When I wired my Fender Select pickups, I didn't use a S-1 switch like their wiring diagram shows. The pickups have 3 wires. I know the blue and yellow are the hot wires. I assumed the green and black are ground wires, but I'm not familiar with S-1 wiring.

The green wire is a ground wire right?

No, the black wires are the only ground. I can deduce from the diagram that the green wires are one coil of each pup, while the blue and yellow are the other coil of each respective pup. From that, I can guess that the yellow and blue, going to the 5-way switch, are the full hum-buckers, and the green wires would be the taps for single coil operation with the S-1 switch. Possibly, the S-1, when engaged, connects the green wires to ground, shorting one coil of each pup.

Thanks for the heads up. I had a feeling when I looked at the diagram again that maybe it could be a hot wire. The diagram shows a ground lug on the S-1 and the green wires aren't attached to it.

That's the tapped sound?? Holy good God. These things are the gift that keeps on giving aren't they?

Maybe you could use a push-pull tone pot to have hum-bucker or single coil sound. That would be sweet!

Yea, no doubt. The tapped sound is insane.
