I am a small person. I also like to hold my guitars very high. These two things come into conflict quite regularly; straps never feel short enough, and this can become a pretty big issue depending on how a guitar's weight is balanced.

So, who makes the shortest straps? I have a "Rock Steady" strap right now, and it was the shortest I could find in Guitar Center, but it doesn't fit on modern strap buttons and barely makes it onto vintage guitars. Are there any companies that make higher quality straps that are either extremely short or have length options?

Floyd, I've always thought of you as a big person but perhaps that's because of your intellect lol. Regarding guitar straps, if you stay with cloth or nylon you might be able to repair them yourself with a needle and thread. :D

I have a very short Ace strap from the 60s in excellent shape. I don't use it because I'm 6'3" and like my guitar just above my waist. A 55" strap is even alittle short for my liking.

I hear ya I'm 5' 7" and under 160lbs. I have the same problem.

I have suede strats and I have to play with the adjustable end and tie it tight with small tie wraps.

If you have any mom and pop tailor shops near you they can cut and re-sew just about any strap you bring in. Most will have a heavy duty sewing machine for leather if needed too. Probably will only cost you a few bucks. Good luck.

I second what Biff Raff said.
I am a little guy, too.
I took my straps to a tailor and had them sewn to the best length.
