I actually like them both, although a bit different sound wise and feel depending on finish and what not).

Maple is bright, tight-sounding with a defined bottom end, a tighter midrange, and a crisp, detailed top end. But i feel the old fingerboard feels a bit "sticky." The new satin finishes on hte other hand, improve the feel of the maple board (nut doesn't look as cool, i find). So i like maple when i want a brighter tone.

As for rosewood, it's easily the most popular fingerboard and has a warm, rich tone with less top end than maple. Neither does it require a finish (because of it's slightly oily nature), so i like the ''fast'' feel. So when i want a warmer tone i'll use a rosewood neck.

p!

I like the look of a naturally aged maple fretboard, but I prefer to play on rosewood fretboards.

I like the maple necks better. I own a Gibson with a rosewood neck and it just does not feel quite as comfortable, not as easy to slide on and everything.

I like 'em both. Although I don't have any with a maple neck. Hopefully the next one I get will have one tho. However, I have played a couple tele's with maple necks and I really like them, but I also like Rosewood...so a little bit of each for me I guess.

It depends on the overall visual effect it has on the guitar. I tend to prefer the darker woods like rosewood and ebony. So for me sound has nothing to do with the selection.

I like them both for different reasons. My Nashville Tele has a maple board and the sound just leaps out. My other guitar is a jazzbox with a rosewood board, so I like that one to be rich and mello.

Rosewood. And you're going to laugh at this, it's more of a visual thing than anything else....

Sometimes when I'm playing leads I get lost on the one guitar I have with the maple fingerboard....(and yes, I do look at the neck when I'm playing leads)

I prefer rosewood because I believe they sustain the lower end of the spectrum better and I prefer that.

I like the tone and feel of rosewood. I have briefly played maple but not enough to enjoy all of its qualities. From what I remember it felt nice and had a brighter tone.
