I just bought a new Schecter Hellraiser C1 and I've been having a hard time finding a good amp for it so I bought a fender mustang iv v2 150 watt and a couple boss pedals (overdrive, noise suppressor). In the guitar center I bought the amp, the display model had fine clean tones but now the new out of the box amp I just opened and fiddled with has NO completely clean tones and it seems like the speakers oscillate in volume a little bit when I play something, like they start loud then drop super fast.
1. How do I get this little bastard to go completely clean?
2. What the hell is up with the speakers? Do they just need to be broken in or will they phase in and out like that forever?

Hello there, welcome to the forums. If you delete this and repost it in the Mustang forumhttp://forums.fender.com/viewforum.php?f=27, you will probably get quicker responses from Mustang owners and Fender TSL. Good luck!

The Mustang amps don't have any completely clean settings - they always emulate something and color the sound. Perhaps especially for the "clean" settings.
If you want advice on amps that go well with a dark metal guitar on clinically clean, this is, i suppose, as good a place as any. The "modern amps" forum too might be useful, but it's mostly about rather warm colored amps (ones that the Mustang emulates). I think the only modern Fender amp with an uncolored clean was the Fender Machete, but Fender has just discontinued it. Bummer.
People who buy Fender amps usually aren't interested in cold uncolored clean, but want "The Fender Sound" I guess.

I think you may be a bit confused about the difference between presets and models. You can get a clean sound by selecting ANY of the models and turning the gain down. The clean sounds will vary based on the type of model emulation you choose (Twin Reverb, Deluxe, etc.). The presets that come loaded with the amp have a variety of effects that have been added to them as well as a range of settings for gain, etc. You can take any of the pre-loaded presets and modify them to get a clean tone you're looking for.

As far as the speaker oscillation I'm not sure I understand what you're referring to. Does it happen on all the presets or just one?

Amp modeling and simulation are an animal unto themselves. If you're used to a conventional amp it will likely be confusing at first. Read the manual carefully and you'll begin to get a feel for mastering the various setups. A VERY good source for such things is the "intheblues" channel on YouTube. He does a great job of showing various setups for emulating different artists. All of his settings can be downloaded using your Fuse software.

Go back to the store, take notes on the settings of the amp, start by those with your own amp.

This is the correct answer:

Go to any preset and change to the PRINCETON model. Turn the GAIN down and the VOLUME up (if necessary). Turn off any stomp boxes or effects. Is it clean now?
