For me, the first person who made me wanna play guitar was a local musician (now slightly well known) named Jason Mraz. I met him at a club he played when i was 11. I got a guitar for Christmas that year and instantly taught myself to play his songs. Then in 7th grade, about a year later, I discovered My Chemical Romance. They struck me as dark, yet inspiring. I had never seen another band that cared so much about saving the lives of fans and just making music that is brutally honest about growing up. Then people branded me as "emo" but whatever. That's gotta be the stupidest word in the world, because there are some people who really are sad and depressed that really need help that don't get it soon enough. But from then on I played nothing but power chords and learned how to solo. I love the sound of power chords so much. To me they are more beautiful than full chords...on the electric guitar of course.

So yeah, MCR and Jason Mraz are my main influences as a musician...oh and Johnny Ramone.

Zombie Threads, whoooo!

Cheer up emo kid, I have some respect these days for trying to rip off Queen's sound. If you're gonna rip off anyone, why not one of the greats?

Paul McCartney made me buy a bass, Cliff Burton (original bassist for Metallica) made me actually play it, Jerry Only made me start a band, and the Pulp Fiction soundtrack made me buy a hot rod red Jaguar bass.

My dad, and Guitar Hero. Got to playing, got a thirst for more of a rush than hitting colorful buttons on a plastic piece of crap. Personally I enjoy the real guitar MUCH more than I do Guitar Hero though.

It started for me with The Beatles

Me too. Seeing the Beatles on Ed Sullivan got me interested in music. However I started to have interest in becoming a bass player after my sister took me to see Grand Funk Railroad at the Fillmore east in 1970. We had front row seats & we sat right in front of mel, the bass player. He was awesome! I went out and bought a 69 Jazz bass just like his!

Initially it was to meet girls. Once I started playing girls no longer was the issue. The guitar became the driving force. We are talking early 1960's here LOL!! By the way, I did meet the wife at a gig.

Hey why are you trying to start something
Its people like you who make society label all rock in general as evil, and you know it. Metal has been labeled as satanic forever, and yet you go ahead and label other music, but if someone lables yours, you would be instantly offeneded

yes i know i music, I study musicology.
