Johnny Cash inspired me to pick up a guitar. sure, he wasn't really a notable guitar player, but still, i was inspired big time by him. after i picked up the guitar, John Mayer became my biggest influence as far as my style goes, and his music steered me toward Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

Ace Frehley inspired me to become a musician.
Han Solo inspired me to become a spice smuggler.

Stevie Ray is my biggest influence. I also think that he is the best guitar player to ever live... and you can quote me on that.

My style of guitar work is influenced by a lot of different artists. But what inspired me or drove me into it was actually myself challenging others that didn't believe I could do it or didn't believe I would stick with it.
I hate having to do what I'm told. That is also a part of how I was given the title of Naked Beer Guy ...

My mom was a torch singer and pianist. I learned the blues when I was a kid, playing under her grand piano and soaking up the sounds. Later, she taught me to accompany her blues-y, rubato singing. Very tough stuff, but I can follow a singer now, boy!

okay, i've been having trouble with this... i recently set up my band's myspace... we really didn't put that much under influences... it's just that it seems to me that no matter how much you might not like country or rap or whatever, that to say that you're not influence by it is utterly ridiculous... i mean, at the very least, it influences you to not make your music sound like that... what do you think?

I started out as a piano player at age 5, and then as I grew older (13) I got bored with it and started to mess around with drums. A few months later a guy came to our school and offered free lessons, so my dad and I signed up and learned a few basics. So, I guess I just sort of got into it, but if I had to pin down exactly who it was that inspired me to start, I would have to say it would be a tie between my very musical mom (she plays piano like no one's business) and the Edge.

well, there are so many things that inspired me to be a musician... it's sad to say but one of them was the strong desire to get out of PE class since PE and band were offered at the same time... other than that....
My Chemical Romance
Green Day
The overwhelming desire to have something to do with my amazingly boring life...

For me it's Yngwie Malmsteen on the G3 DVD.

It started out with me to be with every guitar I heard. It honestly wasn't a band or person I heard play the guitar. It was anyone who played during a song. I fell in love with the guitar, not the person playing.

If you love to play the guitar, you will remember what inspired you to play :)
