Are you talking to me?

Sorry if that first video was a bit over the top, I didn't really watch it before I posted it.

This song always reminds me of Pink Floyd.

I was wondering that also but I'm sure it's directed to the person that started this thread.at this point,it's safe to say there is plenty of good Canadian music out there...I would rather stick an ice pick into my ears than listen to nickelback though.. :D

Yeah, I think so too, now. Just a momentary attack of paranoia.

All this reminiscing sent another one popping up from the memory banks: Aldo Nova.

A lot of people don't like Geddy Lee. It's nothing new. One thing nobody could ever say with a straight face is that he isn't extremely talented. When you see him playing two distinct keyboard parts, one with each hand while singing a complicated harmony part and covering the bass part with foot pedals all in 5/7 time and with a Fender Jazz slung over his shoulder ready and waiting to rip a bass part that could humble the likes of John Entwistle and Billy Sheehan, well that is something to see.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

+1

Much like Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman......multi-tasking personified.

Eric's Trip

White Lung

Mac DeMarco

Japandroids

Grimes

America's Hat has been putting out some of the best music of the decade (barring Eric's Trip, who are old news by about 20 years)

yeah, I guess 9 Grammy award nominations from a single album and winning Album of the Year could put you in the category of "okay songwriter".

How would you know the difference? :D
Nickelback would be a lot better if they didn't compress the Harper out of their music. I'm going from 16-bit to 24-bit to get more dynamics, and these guys are down to a 2-bit wall of sound.

They'd still be an even more mediocre Foo Fighters; generic, safe, lazily written radio rock.
