I've been aiding a fellow forum member, Floyd The Barber, in finding a Guild S-70. Pretty close now, but in seaching for potential leads, I found Ken Nash's site.

What I saw baffled me. The evidence leads me to believe that he's parted out at least 2 S-70s. Why? Shouldn't the low production numbers prohibit that? Does he not realize that these things simply don't break and that parting them out is useless? The parts have probably been listed for years, and haven't sold because people Don't have "project S-70s"

The guitars would sell on their own, but knowing this idiot, he junked the bodies and necks. Pretty annoyed, destroying beautiful axes for no damn reason...

It horrifies me to think that the beautiful white S-70 from that 2011 auction could have gone to this guy.

Yes, why yes it is! The S-70's were produced in low numbers because nobody bought them! As for parting them out, it is his guitar, me thinks there is more than a bit of jealousness going on here. Time to give it a rest.

Not exactly jealous. Mad, parts I may need are too expensive to be easily gotten, one of the orig tuners was missing, and a vintage, used set is $150, $200 with grommets and screws. Plus, gorgeous guitars are destroyed for no damn reason.

I doubt he distroyed a guitar to part it out. If he did part out a guitar the guitar probely wasn't worth repairing. He is a guitar repair shop. Rare parts are expensive, that's just the way it goes. Some times you just gotta suck it up and pay the price. It's ashame because I'm sure the parts weren't that good to begin with but if you want originals you pay or keep looking. If it were me I would put a good set of locking tuners on it and keep looking for the one that you need

Yea, I'm most likely doing Grovers anyhow, he just made the parts absolutely not an option. I only need one and can't find individuals for sale. Just peeved is all. I wish I could find another tulip head button and hope the grover buttons are switchable.
