I'm installing a set of Seymour Duncan Whole Lotta Humbuckers in one of my Carvins. I seem to remember reading that the color codes for SD pups is different than most. My existing wiring has the white and green wires combined. All of the SD diagrams show the white and red combined.
I have a master volume, two tone controls, each tone has a pull/push for coil splitting.
The Duncan website doesn't show this configuration. But looking at some of their other diagrams it looks like green is ground, black is positive and red and white go to the pull/push.
The Carvin pups has black ground, red positive, green and white to the pull/push.
Thanks for any help, I'd rather wait and do it right than experiment and mess something up. I struggle soldering these little wires in the tight spots they go to.

Thanks Frank, the color code diagram will help, though they don't show Carvin pups. The other wiring diagram shows one push / pull on the volume control. I have two push/pulls, one on each tone control. But I think I can adapt. It looks like I need to swap two wires to get it right. The black becomes hot, the green becomes ground, the red combines with the white at each push/pull. I'll sleep on it and give it a go during the week.

Looking at that color code chart, I'm pretty sure my Carvin pups are wired like the bottom Peavey pups.

With unknown pickups I find it helps to really understand how coil taps work, then identify the coil wires with a multimeter. You can identify the coil wires through experimentation, wire one coil directly to a jack, tap the pole pieces to see which coil you've wired in then try adding the other coil in series. If it doesn't hum cancel then you've got one coil wired the wrong way round. That should be enough to let you identify the two coils and where the tap needs to go to ground out the slug coil.
