To my fellow guitarists,...I will be sidelined for awhile due to an injury I suffered at work. I broke my left wrist in two places from a fall! I am in lot of pain, but I am on pain meds,..which are taking care of the pain! :( I hope for a full and speedy recovery so I can get back to playing.

Time to practice tapping! :D

I hope that things go well, and that you're quickly back on your feet, ehrm, hands!

Best on the recovery. A little advice - don't shortcut on the physical therapy. I cut every tendon on my left forearm in an accident 13 years ago (I'm a right handed player) and even though my playing has suffered, if I would have skimped on the PT I probably couldn't play at all right now.

Sorry to hear about your injury and hope you have a speedy recovery. Guess you could still work on some picking hand exercises with open strings, if you need a guitar playing fix.

Dewey, get well soon and I agree you should follow the doctors orders.

Hope that your wrist heals quickly for you. Take those pain meds

I have been there.....sucks.

In a couple weeks if you feel up to it, you could do some slide work.

Oh yeah,...I will be able to do that! UPDATE;I found out today that I am going to have to have surgery on my wrist next Wednesday. No way around it! I will have a plate put in to
fuse the bone together. I'll be away from guitar for a while. :( . My Strat is going to get mighty lonely.

How long did it take until you were back to playing again? I am wondering what kind of exercises I could do once my wrist is out of the cast in order to get it back in playing shape again. I have my wrist repair surgery this Wednesday at 1:30 pm,and will be in hospital overnight for observation.

I would expect that between your surgeon, a physical and/or occupational therapist, you should get some answers and some help.
