I have always wanted a Taylor guitar since having played a few. I really like the ebony fretboard tone. Warmer then maple, sharper than rosewood. Very portable and good for impromptu gatherings. Very easy to play while in an office chair too. :D

It comes with a very sturdy gig bag for carrying around while looking for opportunities.
Mahogany body is very warm sounding. I like it.

Nothing like NGD...Congrats. Taylor doesn't make a bad guitar IMHO.

I like it too. Very nice. I've always like the neck on Taylor guitars, they feel good.

I bought two of these a few years ago. Nice sounding for a 3/4 size guitar. I think the rounded back helps project the sound. I was in the Music Center and they had pretty much every back pack guitar made. I played them all and this was my choice.

One thing I have noticed is I can go through a set of strings in 5 or 6 playing sessions. I do not know for sure but maybe something to do with the scale length? And I have strong fingers.... I have used all kinds of strings and the coated Elixors seem to last the longest. Any time I am on a road trip it is in the car or SUV with me. The screws on the fret board took me back but do not seem to affect anything. Really a good choice for a back pack guitar!

I had a Baby Taylor for a couple of years. Eventually the embossed rosette and the plywood construction and the two drywall screws holding the neck in place became intolerable to me and I sold it to buy a 214 ... but that was before the 200 series was made of plywood. My 214 is old enough that it has a solid top. I think that trade-up speaks more to my weakness as a gear snob than it does to the viability of the Baby as a guitar. In it's defence the Baby Taylor made some decent sounds and was small enough to be one of the easiest acoustics I ever owned to play. It also never once demonstrated any drawbacks to a bolted neck design. It had decent tone and good sustain. For someone on a budget looking to get into a Taylor the Baby is a perfectly viable option.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Thanks. I am very happy with this purchase. Including a well made gig bag certainly was a great plus. All for 299.99 and free shipping. For those of us who still do campfires and tent visits, (I live in a tent 6 months of the year since 2010 and am writing this post from my tent) this little guitar keeps the sound classy while requiring little "elbow room". I like Mexican guitar work as well. Their culture lends to making good quality guitars, IMO. They also have a good work ethic.

Well what am I supposed to say, that I'd sleep with Mr. Bob Taylor himself, in order to conceive a Baby Taylor! :P

I don't have one, but have played some of these and liked the tone and feel of these guitars. Congrats on your new guitar!
