I purchased and downloaded it. Went to install. I forgot to see what system requirements were. I have XP and EZ requires windows 7 or better. I do need a new notebook. I would like to find one with Win7 instead of 8. Whatever, I'll have to get a new notebook and then I can start putting things together. A cursory look for what I want made my brains boil. I'll make another go of it later.

Well don't feel lonesome, the same here. I just tried to install the program and I also have XP, so no go. I'm going to buy an update for Win online and try to stick with this little desk top I've been using. It's kept up so far and I hate to see good equipment get trashed.
After I get Windows updated, I'm expecting to find that my DAW (Mixcraft 5) will need to be updated before EZ Drummer2 will work. This could be an expensive drum track.

Don't feel bad, I did the same thing about a month ago. I had Vista and needed Win7 or better. Ended up getting a HP with an I-core 3 and Win8 ($399 on sale). Not the best laptop but better than what I had and no problems running my DAW or other software. It's the best cheap laptop I found.

Be careful upgrading your DAW to Windows 7 or 8. I went from XP to Win8 this year, found my old version of Cubase 5 wouldn't install on a 64-bit operating system so I had to buy Cubase 7. Same with Reason, had to buy new. Then I found that new Cubase won't run half the DLL based VST plugins that old Cubase would run so I had to buy a whole new bunch of VST's. Then I found my controller keyboard and guitar synth didn't have Windows 8 drivers and Roland had no intention of ever releasing Windows 8 drivers for old equipment. So that'll be another expense in a few months. It all added up to quite a sum but I've got a far better setup now.

Yup, I've ordered Win 8 so I can run EZDrummer2, and I'm searching for an upgrade to Mixcraft 6 Pro. I use it a lot, so I might as well have an up to date program to play with.

To put it into perspective, that 12% off coupon that I used to get EZDrummer2 has cost me about $400 so far. I'm a financial wizard, I am!

I am planning to use Reaper by the Mozilla folks I think. It has an 'auto-tune' app to help with my poor vocals. Haven't gotten around to using it much yet. Home users get a 30 day trial and can purchase a license for 60.00 after that. They do not even disable the program, they keep reminding you to get a license every time you open it. Just ordered a decent enough laptop, so I'll see what happens next week. :D

Hey, did you all ever get EZD2 up and running? If so, what do you think?

I have to load Win8 first. That should get delivered tomorrow. I probably won't get both loaded until next weekend. I hope it's all painless. I don't want to waste an entire weekend futzing with the computer.
