Not when the only new guitars with the features we want are re-issues.

If I state that relics suck, and the reasons why I think so, that's not a personal attack.
What you do, on the other hand, are direct personal attacks and names calling, even directed to people who might have been sympathetic to what views you held before being the recipient of the ad hominem vitriol.

No, I really can't see this. That you dislike what others say or find it offensive gives you no right to start calling names and acting like a class one. No matter how much documentation you have, it still doesn't justify your behaviour.
Others on both sides of the discussion appear to not act irate and start attacking people. Even if you were John Cruz, I'd call you out on behaving like this. Your vinegar and personal attacks don't belong here.

I'd love to see you adjust your attitude and stop the mud flinging, but I have severe doubts it will happen, because you have been on the offense since day one. Heck, even before that - your very nick seems to reflect your attitude and how you approach things. Not smooth and friendly, that's for sure. But if you think that everybody here is out to get you, and won't even consider The Other Explanation, perhaps you should find a solution. Continuing with the names calling isn't a workable one.

1) Well maybe the only features someone wants on a relic is only available on the relic. Like maybe the worn looking finish? How is that any different? It is a matter of having the choice to suit ones personal tastes, that is all.

2) If you or anyone states relics suck and give the reasons that would not bother me at all. I would simply counter on why I disagree. That is called a reasonable "discussion" or "debate". Now if you go back through the other thread you will find that there was not just criticism of relics, but direct personal attacks and offense against those who like them, buy them, and build them. Even as far to call Fenders own customers suckers on Fenders own forum for purchasing CS relics. That is disrespect on so many levels. Then go back and look at all the comments that call people who buy them poseurs and fools and suckers and morons etc etc....you think that is not violating forum rules or being personally offensive??? Then consider the direct attacks on my character, my skills, my ethics, my business etc etc. I will NOT EVER tolerate that from anyone without standing up for myself. You don't like it? Don't read the post or have a mod delete it.

3) All I did was give others back a taste of their own medicine and expose the truth of what was happening. I agree I was offensive at times but it was ONLY in response to direct personal attacks. I would have MUCH preferred if a mod had stepped in and deleted the entire thread or at the very least warn the offenders but since that did not happen I took matters into my own hands as a DEFENSE...not an offense. You just can not see that for some reason and I have no idea why.

Do you actually want me to copy and paste all the offenses here again? Just say the word.

I've changed my mind.
Why punt him?
He's more valuable as he is, where he is.
We have a new poster child.
For the next 2 years whenever we want to point to a relic-lover who is over-the-top maniacal crazy we all know where to go for quotes.

Keep it up, brains!!

It shouldn't be long now. Just keep provoking him. He'll either give up or overstep the mark. Round up the boys.

Round up whomever you want. If I got punted just for exposing those who are attacking, provoking, insulting, degrading others just because they like a specific finish on their guitars then I would not even want to be a part of the forum. But until I am kicked off get used to me. At least I will not be a little nancy and report anyone but if I get a single word from Fender about this I will certainly copy them all the offenses and make sure they are aware that people on their website are belittling their customers here and being total dicks in general.

The best thing for everyone is if they simply delete those entire threads because it is very embarrassing to those offenders and not a good example of what this forum should be like.

Or maybe they can open a new topic called "pretentious haters". Then you all can go there and hate whatever you want.

You are missing the mark. Is has nothing to do with me loving relics. It has to do with common decency, respect for other members, and following the code of conduct. As a matter of fact of the countless guitars I own only one is a relic. I "like" them...not "love" them. But I have enough respect not to bash others just because I might not like the same thing they do. You guys can not see that for some reason..so go ahead...try to punt me....make my day.

You've fallen right into their laps mate. It's a classic case of cyber-bullying. Your opinions are pretty close to those of the well respected MrX, but they've chosen to ignore that. Your responses are making you an easy target.

@ Xhefri, wow man, that's one guitar build I would pay money to watch.

I'm done here.
Goodonyaz all ...Mark.

So that is how it works here? I was wondering about that being they seem willfully ignorant of the fact that this has nothing to do with me "loving" relics or their opinion of relics but the fact that they were certainly bullying and bashing others (and of course me personally) simply because they(I) don't agree to their unwarranted and unreasonalbe hatred of relics, relic owners, relic "lovers", and relic builders.

And every time I bring up that fact that this is all about repect, all they do is harp on that I am some kind of "obsessive" lover of relics. So it seems they are certainly bullying and twisting the FACTS and using my logical arguments to make me a target..and ganging up on me.

I have a good mind to report this abuse and then never bother with the forum again because honestly if I want abuse from a bunch of bitter people who can't even man up enough to admit when they are being abusive and apologize.. I can visit an old age home. What a freaking joke. All over a piece of wood and an individuals freedom of choice of what they want their piece of wood to look like.Image

Interesting thread, and no one is getting punted over an articulate discussion.
Martian, good to see your post. You are my favorite Martian you know. :D
I have heard many things about Fenders roadworn guitars and bass guitars the most remarkable being that they are very playable and the owners of them love the way that they sound. Kind of makes you want one but they're not cheap lol. I have probably commented on other threads I would rather relic a guitar myself but that in reality is because I have a knack for banging up my guitars not on purpose just clumsy sometimes (like what I did to my new Jackson bass last year, oh boy  )
Now I was going to try and be funny by saying Buying a relic'd guitar is like buying underpants with skid marks already on them and then thought maybe that isn't so funny
Anyways thank you all and you are all welcome as well and so on and so etc.
