Very nice guitar!

What does the "Secured" label on the bridge mean ?

Jerry

I think it means it is not a floating bridge, that it is pinned to the body. Something to tear off later like plastic on a strat pickguard.

Yessir!! That's a freaking winner if I ever saw one. Nice grab!!

When I had that vintage Japanese guitar, the bridge wasn't secured. It didn't bother me because I actually like doing guitar maintenance. It just meant that I would have to intonate the guitar after every string change. But after doing it so many times, it's really not a lengthy process. The plus side is, it would be easy to replace the whole bridge unit if you ever needed to. The plus side to a secured one would be that if you use the same string gauge, you intonate once, and you're good to go through multiple string changes.

Very nice -- I always had a soft spot for those guitars.

Thanks guys. I also have a Fender Coronado so I have had the chance to compare the Gretsch Filter-tron pickups to the Fender Fideli-tron pickups and to my ears they sound nothing alike. I'm not saying one is better than the other, just different. The Fender pickups sound more stratish, and the Gretsch sound more, well Gretsch.

AWESOME! Our singer plays one of the older 5120s and she recently tried one of these while amp shopping. I tried it also. Possibly the best bang for your buck guitar out there. The pick up upgrade this model has does incredible things for it compared to the old 5120. It really sounds and plays like a $1500 guitar. She fell in love with it. I did too. Great score!

Yes, very nice indeed and is that a Blues Junior housed in one of Carl's cabinets I see there? Also very cool. Good score.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.
