I've been really enjoying this pedal since I got it I had it for a few months now. I don't think it will be leaving my board any time soon. It can do anything from boost to high gain it's really versitile. my favorite models are 2.DOD 250, 3.Boss DS-1, 4.ProCo Rat and model 7.EHX Big Muff Pi

I actually like the Boss DS-1 emulation better then the normal pedal. The DF-7 got low, mid, mid freq, an high for the eq rather then just a tone knob like the DS-1. Making you able to get more options out of the emulations then the actual pedal

Hi corpseknot. I also have that pedal - I won it for having a letter printed in Guitarist magazine a few years ago.

I also have a real DS-1 and a Big Muff, and if you take care with the adjustments I think you can get the DigiTech to sound pretty close to the units it's emulating. To my ears the DigiTech is just a shade warmer and clearer than the Muff, which is no bad thing at all.

In addition, it models the Boss Metal Zone, which is a pedal I would never buy in a month of Saturday afternoons. And yet I find I quite like it, just for idle noodling. So that's nice.

These portmanteau pedals are amazing value for money and certainly have their uses...

Cheers - C

Funny thing about the Metal Zone is i actually hate the pedal myself too but i had a Beta Avian HM-100 which was a clone of it. I actually liked the clone and dont mind the emulation on the DF-7. However for hi-gain sounds i use a MXR Fullbore Metal
