Im glad I saw him last time he was here. Even as frail as he had gotten the man could still play. :(

It's always sad to hear when living legends cease to be living.
I am glad he lived in the time of recording, and that his performances won't disappear like those of the great artists 150+ years ago.

Thanks for posting Nikola Tesla.
One of the greatest rock and roll guitarists for all time. A blues guitarist/songwriter/singer beyond compare. I have memories of the times that I saw him play, glad that I had those opportunities. Johnny, rest in peace and know that you are loved.

One of the best, and most iconic, guitarists ever. Johnny played the blues in his own unique way and he took that with him. No one can or ever will play like him. Just a shock to think he's really gone.

Johnny used to sell out the Philadelphia Spectrum when we would go see him in the 70's. That was an 18,000 seat arena. He was incredible. If he didn't have all the health and abuse issues he still would have been playing the same way he always did. The carpal tunnel surgery and broken hip really hurt him. His eyesight was failing too. Last time I saw him he said he wished he could stand through the whole performance. It so tragic and I'll miss him like an old friend.

It wasn't just Clapton. The list was pretty impressive. Ben Harper, Billy Gibbons, Joe Perry, Dr. John, Leslie West, Brian Setzer, Joe Bonnamassa and for some reason, I thought Derek Trucks was invited too. I may be wrong, but I remember seeing it. He has a documentary coming out too called "Johnny Winter Down and Dirty". And yes, despite his issues, he was a national treasure.

RIP Johnny.

He left us a great body of work, both rock and blues, and IMO, Saints and Sinners is a masterpiece.
