Cool story actually. Last Sunday I went to have lunch at a Bar and Grill and won $800. Now that was a good lunch.

On my way back home I stopped at a Pawn shop to browse. And this immediately caught my attention. A PRS baritone. Ever since I bought the H&K, I've been looking for a good deal on a baritone (I don't do 7-strings, necks are too fat), and there it was 20-minutes after winning the money.

Other than missing a VOL and Switch knob, it's in perfect shape. I need to do some unpacking to find the parts for it. In the meantime, I had one heck of a jam today. Man I forgot how THICK baritones are.

The guitar was $300, they sell new for $650.

I'm going to have a good time modifying this one. It's gonna take me FOREVER to decide on a bridge pickup for it. This is what I have lying around here:

Duncan- Full Shred
EMG- 81
Duncan-JB
Dimarzio- Steve's Special
Dimarzio- Tone Zone
Duncan- Parallel Axis

Until I make a decision, I think I'll just take a while getting accustomed to the 27.7 scale neck, make all adjustments and parts swaps.

Anyway, there you have it. I thought I was done buying gear for a while. Now I think I pretty much have what I need to pull off any of the Genres that interest me. Now I have my Reggae rig, Blues rig, Rock, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Metal, everything in between.

The Baritone and H&K go together very well. You can bring down the walls with that pair.

You should know better bro..it is never over. Well maybe when I am dead. Then let my beneficiaries decide what to do with all the guitars and equipment.

And now you got me interested in trying out a 6 sting baritone guitar. I had thought they were all 7 string and tried a few...not for me. Don't have the patience to relearn working with an extra string.

Yea, I know. I was going to wait a while on the Baritone idea, but this was a good deal. This model wouldn't have been my first choice for one. I can think of others I'd rather have, but I'm cool with this one right now.

I'm kicking myself for selling my old LTD MHB-400. That was the most comfy baritone I'd ever handled.

I made a mistake of buying a BC Rich 30" scale baritone online before the LTD. That thing is just too damn big. I still have it, but I'm going to butcher it into being a Bass VI for recording. I've probably played it 5-times since I bought it and that was like 7-8 years ago. It's the definition of "should have played one first before buying".

I mean, for real, look at this thing next to a real Bass.

I'll have fun with the PRS for a while. But I think eventually, I'd like to get one that has a comfortable contour body.

Video Poker. Pretty much 90% of the bars here in Vegas have video machines. I didn't even plan on playing any. I had lunch, and my waitress was nowhere to be found for paying the bill. So I stepped up to the bar.

I put money in the machine, but I wasn't paying attention to the amount being bet. The machine was showing credits. But I was playing $1 amounts. So it was $5 a hand. But I got 4- 3's w/ an Ace. So it paid $800.

I slapped $40 on the bar and booked it outta there. I wasn't about to stick around. That's how you lose it back.

When I saw the pic I thought "oh right, another PRS" ... then I saw the magic word baritone. Now I'm jealous! I've been experimenting with baritone sounds on a Roland VG processor and it's great fun, guitar tunes in B just seem to work really well. Bit of overdrive, bridge humbucker, sounds incredible. I eagerly await sound clips.

Nah. That's certainly not how I am. I still don't know what I was doing when I bought that BC Rich though. The Samick Valley Arts Bass is awesome though. The neck feels like an American Fender. I have some Dimarzio Ultra Jazz pickups in it. Really dig that Bass.

GilgaFrank, I'm a big fan of baritones. I couldn't use one in my last band. It's nice to be back in that drop tuned realm again. I think it's great to even be reading up on other peoples approach on pickup choices for them. Larry Dimarzio said in an interview that he believes you should have low powered pickups in one. However, I remember having a Super Distortion in my LTD. I loved it. For me, a baritone does two things. Clean and high gain distortion. Anytime I try to do anything in between those aspects, I can't hang.

I played the LTD through a Mesa DR. Now I'm using the H&K and it's just like visiting an old friend. Balls to the wall. Aggression in the air. Diggin it.

Nice find for $300 for sure i love PRS's :) .
I was thinking my next guitar will a baritone or a seven string.
Right now i got my B.C. Rich Warlock down in baritone tuning with really heavy strings. Where it only got a 25.5" scale length it can get a bit muddy when i drop my low B to A.
I enjoy the lower tunings also there was about 2 or 3 year when i only played in B standard and nothing else.
Mainly because i only had one guitar at the time(Warlock) and i wasn't try to tune it up with a set of 12's on it set up for B standard.

Good job on not being a brand snob too :P i don't own two of the same brand myself lol.
Right now i got.
Fender Blacktop Tele
B.C. Rich Walock
LTD Eclipse ec-100
Ibanez RG420EX

I've had another ibanez, squire, jackson and a dean all of which i traded away i regret trading the jackson though. Being a brand snob is just limiting yourself really but to each there own i have the same view of pedals. :P

This is my PRS copy:

The craftsmanship on this guitar is insane. It's the lowest action of any of my guitars. I swapped hardware. It's rare for me to like gold. I know we have one member on here who despises CORT. I can't imagine why. After modification along with the playability of this guitar, it could actually be the sweetest guitar I own.

I was only in Vegas once when I was in a touring metal band from LA. As soon as we got there we went to a bar and flushed into the bar tops was video poker machines. So I tossed a dollar in there thinking what the hay when in Rome....and I won 80 dollars first try ever. They hooked me I was like "I love this place". Well need I tell you how fast that 80 went and then some :?

Unfortunately, after being here over 20-years I know all too well.

Remember that bar I posted pictures of earlier? It has the machine cutouts in it. Wanna talk about sweating a little? Once the bar top goes on, there's no taking it back off. I was instructed by the owner to glue it down as well as screw it on. So you can imagine, there's no making mistakes on the cutouts at that point.

The machines have to fit in tight at the top, and on the front. Then it has to be approved by a gaming corp. they want to make sure nobody can try any jimmying of them.

Another interesting note. You'll notice a locked door at the bottom. Most people would tend to think it's part of a cash safe or something. But truth be told, it's only there so they can plug the machine in after dropping it in.
