My most disappointing concert is one that I decided not to go to. I love the Counting Crows and have seen them live several times and was all ready to buy tickets to for their tour this summer, but it turns out they're touring with Maroon 5! It's tough to bill yourself as a classic rock type band when you do something like that. What the?!

Bad choice there. They need a new agent.

Funny, just remembered the worst one I didn't go to as well.

Eve 6 was performing at my college, and a couple of my friends on the Student Activity Board mentioned they were paying Eve 6 $25,000 to perform for 2 hours.

I couldn't go since I had night class.

Anyway, turns out they only played 45 minutes, then abrubtly broke up the band.

HaHaHa!

A similar story...
When I lived in Seattle, the local radio station put on an outdoor concert at a ski lodge. One of the big name acts was Silverchair. In the middle of their set (actually in the middle of a song), the lead singer stopped and said "it's too #*@&ing cold out here" and walked off the stage.

In honor of the event, the radio station played a Silverchair song the next morning and stopped it half way through.

You mentioned Steely Dan in Charlotte back in the mid '90s. Did that happen to be the show at Blockbuster Pavilion October 1993? My wife and I went due to me winning two tickets and a limo ride courtesy of ROCK101 in Greenville,SC. We thought the show was great.

The second time I saw the Stampeders.
http://www.stampeders.net/

They had earlier gone to being a 6 piece from a 3 piece (They started as a 6 piece--but made it big as a 3 piece.)

This time they were a big multi piece band, lacklustre show. Only 2 of the 3 were left in this grouping. And the opening act was very boring. I forget the guy's name.

The first time I saw them, it w as a great show.
Later I saw Ronnie King with 2 other guys doing a bunch of old Stampeders songs, and some covers--and it was a very good show.

But that 2nd one was boring.
