I always liked the Kentucky
Headhunters... That Greg
Martin could really play...

I liked at the end where they
came on stage at the end and
joined in with Hank Jr. for the
grand finale...

That was the only part of Hank being on stage that I liked.

That's easy. Black Sabbath. 1978 at the Spectrum in Philly. Some young upstarts called Van Halen opened for them and totally blew them away. Sabbath was so loud, so bassy, so boomy...it was awful. Ozzy quit after that tour he was so pissed at being shown up by Van Halen every night.

Areosmith and Nazareth. The only time in my life that I came close to being in a riot. I think it was those sound guys again.

Saw John Mayer at the Leon County Civic center this year. And he was not as good on stage as I thought he would be.

That's disappointing, he is usually pretty solid live. Probably seen him 5 times, but the best was the Trio show, he was in the zone/pocket...what ever you want to call it, that to this day is probably one of the most enjoyable concerts I have ever been to.

As for the the most disappointing show I have ever seen, The Black Crowes at the Voodoo Lounge in KC a few years ago. The Sound was TERRIBLE!!! They made up for it the next year but you could tell that the sound was jacked on stage too, they all just seemed really frustrated.

aerosmith 1984....had 5th row center stage tickets and the sound was awful and steven tyler sucked that night......later that night i went to see black flag and henry rollins vocals were ten times better than steven tyler's. which surprised me because henry rollins is not a very melodic singer.

That might have been during Aerosmiths
addictive era... Things have changed for
the better for them...

Check out the "Honking On Bo Bo" album...
Stephen Tyler plays a mean harp...

Projekt Revolution 04 or 05 i think it was. Cant' remember which one had stuterfly and autopilot off on the bil...

Absolute suckfest. Everyone sounded off except linkin park themselves, and they really aren't terrific live (or weren't until recently.)

In constrast I went last year and they were phenomenal...As was Placebo, Julien K, Taking Back Sunday (who i hate with everything in me, but they did put on a good show.) and My Chemical Romance.

Even the revolution stage was good, they had Mindless self indulgence and Saosin on the 2nd stage.

But anyway yeah that first one i went to was absolute trash

Bonnie Bramlet back in the early seventies. She was the lead act for someone (don't remember who). Bonnie's an OK singer but she was way off that night. She was really getting booed too. I felt bad for her.

Another couple of bad bands I've seen were the Fabulous Poodles opening for Heart and some unknown band (at the time) called Cheap Trick opening for Rush. They weren't good enough to be a cheap trick.

I've wanted to see BB King for decades. Finally got my chance a couple of years ago. BB isn't cheap to see these days. Last time he was in South Florida tix started at $100 and went to $400!

That night, the gain on the amp had to be turned way up for the first few songs 'cuz his guitar sounded more like AC/DC than BB. He told a lot of stories and intoduced the band members at least 6 times. I just wanted to hear him sing and play and he did very little of either. But at least I got to see him. :)
