hi

I'm planning to try some hollow body guitars at the store. The following ones are guitars that I will try: Epiphone Joe Pass emperror II, epiphone sheraton II, ibanez afj95, ibanez as93, hagstrom viking, cort yorktown. Any comments about this guitars or any other guitars in this price range that I should try? Please let me know :)

grtz

PRS SE Custom Semi-Hollow, about the same price as some of the one you mentioned. I would be tempted by the Viking. I've always wondered about the quality of the Epi's in that price range. Lot of people say there really good. I've wondered about the Wildcat in particular.

Here is a couple not on your list.....

http://www.fender.com/guitars/other/cor ... apple-red/

http://www.fender.com/guitars/other/sta ... rry-burst/

Both are on the 700msrp range (550ish on the street) they both have a stratoacter type neck feel, so the transition over is easier.

What kind of issues. I have a few new Ibanez Artcoore and Artist editions from China with no issues.

I'm always on the Ibenez Forum. Out side of a neck tweak from shipping etc., and a few with fret sprout I have not heard of any real quality issues like Gibson is having with finishes and necks.

I think the MIC hollowbodies will likely come apart in less than a decade.

I have a MIC AR325 it is the second one, it has been back to the factory. Between the 2nd and 3rd fret there is something going on. It is especially noticeable on the G you cannot play an A note that is in tune and you can feel it in the neck there is a difference there. It is the second one I've had with this exact issue and I've played other with the same issue. I've had other guitar friends play it and that is the first thing they notice without me saying a word. This is rally a downer for me because I love the sound of the super 58's. IMO sonically it lives in a perfect space between a LP and an ES. The finish on the guitar is impeccable.

I just bought a gibson 335 studio and it is a fantastic guitar. Do yourself a favor and check one out you won't be disappointed. The price was right also.

I have a candy apple red Coronado and it is a great guitar. I'm surprised I don't here more about them on the forum. Just picked up a seven year old AF75 Ibanez Artcore and I seriously doubt it will come apart in three more years. Who ever says that is foolish.

Uh oh.. I feel another 8-year bet coming.

The last time I was in Sam Ash looking at semi-hollows, believe it or not, I liked the LTD Xtone best. Go figure. Very cool guitar though.

Sounds more like your nut needs work if you can't get a A note in tune. You actually shipped it back to the factory in China?

10 Years befor it delaminates? What kind of BS you spreading. Typical internet garbage with no facts to back it up.

Give the Gretsch G5422TDC Electromatic Hollow Body a serious look. I've got my eye on the 12 string version and really like how it plays and sounds.

Fennycaster, they use really cheap, brittle glue on the MIC stuff. Many of those guitars will delaminate well before their time.
