I'm really sad to say that I've just heard that Tommy Ramone has passed away.

I'm honestly saddened, and I just wanted to say thank you for everything in terms of music he's given the world. Sad to know all of the originals are gone.

Last of the original Ramones dead, damn it. Who's out there to take their place?

Where would I be without The Ramones? Probably playing awful prog rock and wearing a blazer and turtle neck like a wanker. Thank you will never be enough. If there's a heaven it'll be rockin a hell of a lot harder now. Adios, Amigo.

RIP Erdelyi Tamas.

The music will live through us forever. I see it all the time, new generations of kids getting excited whenever The Ramones hit the air waves. Gotta love it.

RIP Tommy. The Ramones were the right band at the right time to fill a niche that sorely needed filling. Their music has become a slice of Americana.

I'm sad to hear that the last of the original Ramones is gone. I saw the Ramones live back in the mid-90s. It was a great show. I had brought my then-teenaged sisters along (it was their first ever rock concert) -- they loved it but I think the experience may have helped create a couple of rock 'n' roll monsters.

When I was a kid I lived in NYC and was too young to get into clubs but one night I was walking by one and the door was open, and in the club right at floor level was the Ramones playing live in their prime. What a treat even though I could not get in I had a great view and no problem hearing them. I miss bands like that. The energy was intense and they were simply the pinnacle of that style rock and were absolutely an influence to other bands and even dress style/image to the public at the time. About half the kids in school had Ramones patches on their jackets and Ramones tee shirts etc. And they were able to pull it off without being offensive or resorting to controversy as a gimmick. They just rocked.
