Let's keep this thing dirt simple: basically anyone who submits a post at any time over the next month (approximately) is going to be automatically entered to win. Specifically, all posts submitted during forum's opening June 12th and forum's closing July 16 will qualify for an entry.

What if some foul-mouth-spam-posting-joker comes on the forum, does his foul-mouth-spam-posting thing, gets deleted and banned .... and then at the end of the contest gets selected as a winner? Would that be possible?

thats what I was wondering too...

Happy Anniversary to all! Of course this is all about Brad. The man who convinced his bosses that this was a good idea. That this would be a place where young, old, cool, uncool. metalheads and bluesman would hang out and actually get along. Brad, you took the chance. You put your reputation on the line. You set the tone. Thanks man! I hope Fender's proud of you. This is the best board on the net!

WOW -- very, very kind words, thanks so much! I still have the original proposal for this project sitting on my desk and needless to say, it'll be a lifelong keepsake. To be clear, Fender as an organization is EXTREMELY supportive of this effort from top to bottom, but naturally whenever you launch into new, unexplored territory like this there's obviously always going to be an undeniable risk factor and/or "sense of the unknown" present.

So, yes, this has involved some sticking my neck out on the line to be sure -- but that's why this celebration is 100% about *you* and not me. I said we could do it but ya'll have proven we could do it!!

How do feel about what is considered your baby turning 1?

LOL -- when I read this my first thought was about my real baby ... my daughter, Ruby, just turned 1 in May!

Anyway, I'm certainly a proud Papa in both cases -- my daughter *and* the Forums. :-)

Any hints on what we can expect in year 2?

If I told you it wouldn't be a surprise, Chet! :-) But seriously, I'll give you one hint: among other things, I'd still like to work on expanding our posting hours even further -- can't make any promises as to when and how much, but it's definitely something still weighing on my mind.

No, at the giveaway's conclusion I'll do a query of all posts over the time period, and the random selection will be done based on that -- posts that have been deleted will NOT be included in that query.

Can I get my VG Left Handed?

D'oh! We'll cross that bridge when/if we get to it, eh? :-) Maybe you'll win the store shopping spree instead -- there's no such thing as a left-handed T-shirt or coffee mug, right? LOL!! :-)

Those are incredible prizes! Wow. I wasn't expecting that! When you say surprises, Brad, you really mean it!

Extremely generous of Fender!

Thanks and good luck to everyone! My only wish is that the VG Strat goes to someone that will play the @#$% out of it!

Good luck everybody!

That's true.
..I mean, on what other forum can you win a top of the line guitar, an amp or a shopping spree just by posting?

This is a great forum to discuss a common interest by many people. I`m not around here long but I have learned from it and no matter what our ages are we all seem to get along. The world community can learn from the forum Fender set up and I hope it continues to be an educational experience. When I have a question reguarding a Fender product I know I can always come here for help and chances are I`ll get the help I need. Thanks Fender for backing up your products in the manner that you do.

Hey Brad! Great work my friend! I'm sure it goes without saying but we want the Forum folks to win these prizes, not FMIC employees, correct?

Chet,

Please call me Marty! :D
