I definately can't image Gibson ever doing something like that.

Neither can I, especially with one of their more advanced guitars like Fender is doing with the VG. The day Gibson gave one of their "robots" away is something I don't forsee in the near future.

I just watched a VG demo and I never knew that guitar had so many features!

A 12 string acoustic, a resonator? That'll kick a robot-guitar's butt any day!

Well, it depends on what you want. If you want a lot of strange tunings, go for the robot. But if you want a versatile guitar with a good amount of major tunings and different pickup settings, the VG is the way to go. It would seem to be no contest unless you were one who were constantly going into unorthodox tunings.

...personally, I just can't see the point in the Robot-guitar's features. It just tunes itself and tells how how many times to turn the saddle screws for setting the intonation. That's it. No acoustic/12 string modeling or anything of that sort.

Yeah, I know. The only way I would ever considering purchasing one would be the fact that I was playing a show with maybe 5+ different tunings in it and didn't have the guitars to have one for each tuning. Other than that, th VG seems much more practical.

Wow, eight pages already?

Happy Birthday to all on the forum.

Hope everyone gets a post in.

It's very nice of Fender to consider giving stuff away to us in appreciation.

It's been a fun year,

The Fender site is a lot older, but the forum isn't.

I was going to wash the gray right outta my hair, but it's falling out faster than it's turning gray so I'm not gonna worry about it.
Pretty soon I'll be able to wax my head at the same time I'm doing my guitars.
