I wish they said how much he got for it if anything. If it went for a lot I got enough spares that I could lay a few out it a lightening storm and tie metal rods to them 8)

Not sure. According to certain laws of thermodynamics it should not change the weight but if chunks of the body get blown out by the lightning I could see it causing a "lightening" 8)

I did a quick search and it seems it went for $1,284 on eBay according to the "my les paul" forums. An 85 should go for well more then that before being destroyed by lightning. I guess it did not quite have the same level of collectability as the destroyed by a meteor mailbox that supposedly sold for $80,000 or a nice piece of Jesus toast.
