I think the thing to keep in mind is that this is a movie "based" on a part of Jimi's life, not a documentary or biography by any means. There already are several documentary's and biography's out there that are for learning, this one seems it is just for entertainment purposes for the masses and not geared to those who are really interested in historical accuracy.

Bullshit!!!

Patronize this pathetic piece of crap if you wish but I'm not putting a nickel into that opportunistic wench Jaynie Hendrix's pocket.

I wouldn't piss into her goddamm mouth if her head were on fire.

I don't think the aforementioned "wench" has anything to do with this movie, hence the lack of genuine Hendrix music included in the soundtrack.

No SA I don't think she does, but I think she's working on one which is why they can't get a release for his music for this film. I won't see it. It will probably be on Pirate Bay or one of the other theft sites within a week of it's release. I'm a huge Hendrix fan, but how many more of these movies do we need. There's so much free Hendrix footage on youtube it ain't funny.

No Hendrix music, no involvement, consultation, or help from any of the people close to him, in those years in London in which it was set.

We know biopics fictionalise and time shift events for dramatic effect etc etc, but at what point does this movie become completely pointless? A movie about a guy called Jimi Hendrix, that has nothing to do with the real guy who was Jimi Hendrix.

I wouldn't bother with anything released by the Hendrix family either - that would be no less hagiography than this one, likely even more so, to sell even more stuff they've already flogged a million times over. The only thing they both will have in common is Ka-ching.

There's an article in this month's Vintage Guitar mag about how badly Hollywood has done over the years in using period-incorrect instruments and amps; they specifically (and rightfully) called out "The Buddy Holly Story" for the ridiculous anachronisms.

Does anybody know how accurate this one about Hendrix is supposed to be, instrument-wise?
