What song lyric pops in your head from time to time? it can be funny or profound. The one that came to mind this morning is a little of both, "Rosie Mae" by Lightnin' Hopkins:

"She walks just like she's got oil wells in her backyard..."

Pretty much every line of Richard Thompson's song Mother Knows Best ... a scathing stinging attack on Margaret Thatcher. Coincidentally she was ousted as Prime Minister on the day he recorded it.

Angry, angry lyrics, he sings like he really means it and the guitar playing is just vicious.

I have a few favorites but the first one that came to mind is from Bob Dylan-like a rolling stone ...."When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose"

And they gazed in wide wonder... At the joy they had found...

Seems that some people don't understand "one-liner".

My fave:

It is hard to pick just one as the favorite, but this is certainly one of my favorites (The whole song rocks!)

I immediately thought of this one:

"When you pissed all over my black kettle, you musta been high.." — TOOL— The Pot

To understand the context of the lyrics, it's like Dick Cheney commenting on Obama's Iraq policies. Not to start any kind of political derailment. But it refers to the accuser being as bad or worse than the accused. The pot calling the kettle black. Great line. Love the metaphor.

U2

Two of my favorite one liners. Always seems to put things in perspective when things are not going all at great.
