Update:
Having put some time on the ClearTones I have now changed my mind and I won't be buying any more of them. I'm talking acoustic guitar strings here. They initially have a much clearer sound than the Gores when you first put them on and that rich clear sound does last longer than a set of untreated strings but then the tone starts to drop off just like untreated strings. Right now I am going to change them because they are totally dead. No life at all. Just a dull thud. With Gore Elixers (Nano, not Poly) you start off with a slightly less jangly tone in the beginning but they diminish very, very slowly. I don't change them until I am afraid one of them is going to break, usually the D or G strings. They still sound reasonably good right up until they snap. These Clear Tones are nowhere near that point. There aren't even the beginnings of any bumpy spots on them yet from the frets. I would say they last approximately twice as long as a set of decent untreated strings. They cost just a little more than twice as much so there's no value there IMO. I find Elixirs last me at least 5 times as long as untreated strings if not longer and they cost a little less than twice as much. Next time I am in the city I am picking up another dozen sets.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Arent those Cleartone strings "round" core?
Ive never had any luck with those. Hex core are the only way to go.
