Whoda guessed it? I Googled it and found many such bed pan guitars!

You guys couldn't stick with cigar boxes. You had to move on to bed pans.

Got any build pictures 63supro? I am, of course, interested in the construction.

First off guys, thanks for all the creative comments, you all made my day.
I don't have any construction photos, but it's a solid staggered block construction that's bolted to the back. You have to stagger the blocks to fit the shape of the pans curve in the front. The solid plate top loading bridge gives it more support. I originally had a Dano bridge screwed to a block but it was too unstable and wouldn't stay in tune. Now it does. There's a wood block under the bridge that's held in by the strap pin screw. There's a lot of bedpan guitars around but most of the ones I've seen are three or four stringers made for slide. I've been working on six string cigar box guitars for a while now and I think I finally unlocked the secret of stability.

GFS makes some really nice sounding, well made, inexpensive pickups. They aren't Gibson Humbuckers, but the single coil pickups I've used sound a bit better than Fender's lower end offerings IMO.
You can build a guitar out of almost anything. For fifty bucks and some time, I have a one of a kind guitar that can cure some GAS for a little while.

Mud, the funny thing is it sounds pretty cool. I can easily get some cool controlled feedback from it because of all the hollow space in it. I can't wait to to whip it out at a gig.

save it for the 'bathroom break song' in your setlist.

Hmmmm....
Songs that might sound good on that Shitar:

It Keeps You Running - Michael McDonald
She Came In Through The Bathroom Window - Beatles
Smokin' In The Boys Room - Brownsville Station
You Keep Me Hanging On - The Supremes
That Smell - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Ring of Fire - Johnny Cash
