I live in a kind of odd situation where most of us in all the units are musicians and took the place knowing we could practice 24/7 and no one complains...and no one does. We have at least 4 drummers and some are really good pro players that tour and do some major gigs. However the one right next to me has the worst timing I have ever heard. I think time is nothing but a magazine to him. Sometimes he lands a decent riff and I am like okay I can live with this but the dude can not get through a measure without severe timing issues. Of course I will never say anything to him about it as it would be a pretty dirtbag move to insult someone who is practicing and at least it seems trying to get better.

But.....well.... nevermind. Just had to vent it here while I was on the forums anyhow and he has been practicing for hours. But his timing....maybe I should leave a metronome by his door anonymously?

Include a note apologizing for missing the housewarming party and here is the gift.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Thanks for the laugh. But OMG he literally drops half time in a single measure. The guy has some chops too....I think I would be helping him if I did something as there is no way he is going to get a gig doing this in any band that cares about timing.

Another drummer here who is also a producer told me this guy has paid him to record some original stuff and it was atrocious. He said he thought the guy was just warming up and he was like "no, that is the song". Image

LMFAO!

Kind of like some new irresponsible neighbor with a kitten that thinks your stoop is a comfortable place to pinch a loaf so you bring the shlub a litterbox and a bagful of One Step as an "ice-breaker".
