That's great Drew, you must have gotten a horseshoe suppository to be lucky enough to sit in on Jeff Beck's sound check.Watching the Live at Ronnie Scott's video is the closest that I'll ever come to seeing him live I'm afraid.Just seeing him play "Sleepwalk" is treat enough for me-that has to be one of the most incredible bits of guitar work ever exhibited.Glad to see that he's back in good health again.

There go the Artist and Signature Series guitars. Fat chance Fender makes the change.

as an aside, is that a different bass player from a while ago?

I was watching the crossroads dvd as well as a few others, and it looked like a different bassist.

not that it matters, just curious.....

Yes, and unfortunately I didn't catch her name. She's more than good. Plus she looks like she's having the time of her life through the whole show.

On the current tour, Beck is accompanied by guitarist Nicolas Meier, bassist Rhonda Smith, drummer Jonathan Joseph and singer Jimmy Hall. They play a two-part set—the first instrumentals, the second with Hall handling vocals—before turning things over to Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill and Drummer Frank Beard.

Wonder how many Jeff auditioned before he could find Tal's equal? BTW: Is that really Jeff's hair? Anyone care to take a guess?

I think it is. It's thin at top rear and showing scalp, and it was kind of greasy looking like he needed a shower. Maybe he doesn't wash it often to try to keep it in place? I've heard of stranger things.
The picture Mike posted looks like he'd just had a blow dry.

Guess I'm feeling a tad envious. My two longtime friends and band mates, though greying to near white, still have a top cover. So does Beck's long time friend Jimmy Page. I expect that Beck colors his hair. It's far too black for his age.

We saw Ringo's All Star Band a few weeks ago. Steve Lukather fits this profile. I suspect aging hair may be the reason for some of ZZ Tops head gear. Billy looked like he was ready for a snow storm in L.A.

Seems he was heavily influenced by a photo of Jimi Hendrix covering his Rough and Ready album.

Obviously Jeff requested a neck with his favourite fat baseball bat profile and old Wilkinson split roller nut, except for the addition of a reverse peghead.

Rhonda doesn't play her Fenders on this tour; it's the first time I see her cradling a couple of PRS Kingfishers :o :) .
