Hey guys,

For those who haven't heard, we've expanded our classic American Standard line. The new Jaguar® Bass model offers the comfortable body of the original Jag bass plus all the features of the contemporary American Standard series, including a modern 9.25" rosewood fingerboard with medium jumbo frets. But it's also been upgraded with additional features such as a versatile P/J pickup configuration and combination top-load/string-through-body High-Mass Vintage bridge. Add series/parallel switching and a dual-circuit Jag design, and tonally, it really packs a powerful punch! Check it out and let us know what you think.

Thanks everyone!

Cheers Brad, thanks a lot for the information.

Any plans for a 5-string version :?:

Great. Now after 32 years can we finally expand the American Vintage line to include a 51 or 55 Precision bass? You know, THE Precision Bass? Thanks.

It looks spectacular but I doubt in 3 lifetimes I would have use for so many switches. However for those who enjoy spending countless hours searching for just the right Goldilocks tone this could be the bass for them.

I love all the switching options... I often custom wire my guitars with multitudes of options just to see what I can get for tones. Once I find a few that I like, I usually stick to 'em but it's fun to fiddle around with them.

I like the looks of the one pictured and the Candy Apple Red one... some more creative color options would have been cool but I'm not complaining. Heck, I don't even play bass.

Nice bass!!

Now, American Standard Jaguar, or Jazzmaster? Surely if there is a market for the bass, there would be far more demand & room for the guitar?

Just sayin.

Agree it is a personal thing. In my beginning days I used to love lots of switches and always loaded my guitars with coil taps and phase switches. Nowadays I find I can get all the tone I want with a single split pup, single volume and single tone on my P bass and use the controls on my amp or board EQ when recording if it needs any tweaking. But on this Jaguar Bass I admit the switches seem right and that some will certainly see those as a plus.

My bad... I just glanced at it quickly and figured it was CAR. I think an Aztec gold with tortoise guard would look pretty sweet. It's all the same to me really... I'm not in the market for a bass and nor am I into marketing. I'm sure they consider the popularity of colors and release them accordingly.

Especially with a 1-piece maple neck/fingerboard with black rectangular blocks!

We have already an American Special Jazzmaster and a matching Mustang armed with two splittable humbuckers.

The American Standard versions will follow shortly after the American Special Jaguar come into surface.
