I just purchased a '75 Strat that came with a black case, no Fender logo, and a red lining. What year is this case?

Hard to determine but likely the case is not original to the instrument. In 1975 the case would be a G&G type in black Tolex, red/orange poodle-plush interior, offset storage pouch (no leather pull-tab on the lid nor G&G medallion), and a plastic no-tail Fender amp logo riveted to the exterior of the lid.

Minus the Fender logo, you have nailed the description of my case. I'll look closer to see if there are whole where a logo might have been.

The tailless amp logo would've been secured to the case lid with two Tinman rivets.

No rivit wholes. The case looks just like my other '70s era case, but no logo and has a red lining. All the parts, materials and dimensions are the same.

When did Fender start using black tolex, or the Fender logo on their cases?

Black Tolex on Fender cases first appeared during the 1964 model year. IIRC, the amp logo on the lid showed up in '66 or '67.
