There are many guitars, also from Fender that comes with relic treatments. You know, dings and dangs on the guitar and so forth.
Would you guys consider buying 1 of those? I dont. I just dont see the point to buy a guitar that seems to be loved and played for ages but when thats not really the case. Its just fake.
What about you guys?

Some of them are beautiful in my opinion. Would I pay extra for the realistic damamge, probably not. I'd rather have a nitro finished axe and do my own damage over time. The way the guitar gods wanted it to be.

Personally I don't see a point in paying more money for less paint.

...People say it's for the "mojo", but the relic treated guitars really do nothing for me. NOS please!

New yes ... relic no. Simple as that. If anything they could sell a new version of a guitar that is a relic and say so and so got one just like it and show the worn guitar. I would much rather have a new guitar that became Frankenstein instead of something that is trashed.Just an opinion.

I would never pay a lot extra to have someone scratch and ding my new guitar.

I'm quite the opposite. I take care of it, as well as I can. But.....if there has to be scratches and dings........I want to be the one to put them on the guitar. Not a stranger, and then pay a small fortune to have him do it.

To me, it's like buying a dinted and scratched car and paying more for it than it is when new.

I try to be careful so that I don't "relic" my posessions.
