I was wondering if anybody else besides me likes to know as much as possible about their favorite bands, guitar brands, and the history of guitars. I think it's fun and cool to know these things and I was wondering if anybody feels the same way

Yeah I think it's good to be knowledgeable about things you like.

I used to when I was a kid. Now I just like the music. What they use to make it is up to them.

Oh yeah, I like to know about my favorite artists' gear and playing styles.
When you start to know their birthdays and what-not, that's a little obsessive...
but hey, worse things to obsess over I suppose.

Same here. But what I hate, is when I run out of information to learn. I just can't seem to get enough info on something, I'm always thirsting for knowledge and when I can't find anymore it just makes me even madder.

:? I've found even the internet is limited.

I do the same thing. It never hurts to find out what gear helped your heroes play, nor is it odd to want to learn more about bands you enjoy.

It's only wierd if you live in a van and follow them everywhere they go. Past that getting to know about them is okay.

dont think its wierd at all, you can never know too much of your favourite artist or guitar brand (fender)

me for instance use way too much time sitting on www.Gilmourish.com and reading about David Gilmour's gear i never get enough!

Not weird at all. In fact I just got done reading Ronnie by Ronnie the other week. It is a great insight into Ronnie Woods and The Stones from 1975 onwards. It is a good read. Especially if you are a Stones fan!

No, it's just studying a form of current history; definitely not weird.

Guitars, amps, makers, yes. Those are fascinating to this mind.

Musician and band histories, 'do not particulary care in most cases.

I know what you mean. You can't always trust the internet though, sadly. I hate it when you hear someone talking about one of your favorite bands or something and when you go to find more information you can't find ANYTHING!!!! Then you're stuck wondering whether it was a lie or not!!!!

I find it fun to just go and research about different artists and people and things i'm interested in. I get to learn and have fun at the same time! it's great! :)

Weird? No. I "nerd out" on who plays what brands and models. That's fine. Weird would be making a tuxedo out of cold cuts stapled together.
