Yea that reminds me, when I was 6 years old, I ripped my bottom eyelid on my right eye. Basically, I fell while playing outside and took a handlebar to the eye, as in my eye landed on it.

I'd really take other people's tolerances and limits into consideration before telling them just to get over it or to simply quit griping. I hate to say it, but SA, you've made an $@! of yourself to me, but it's fine, everyone's pants fall in public at least once in life. :P

Just kidding about the "get over it" statement--I know it's really painful, especially if you're taking chunks out of your hide. My stitches were just a simple-but-deep slice with a really clean, sharp edge (I assume cleaner and sharper than the can lid that cut your thumb).

No offense meant.

Maybe this is a Texas thing--that expression, "I've had worse cuts on my eyeball!" Was something old men always used to say to little boys who were crying because they fell down or got an injury, no matter how severe. (My boss said it to me when I stabbed myself all the way through my forearm at age 18...) I thought it was a common expression, but maybe it's not...

Again, no offense, I know that's a tough injury, and I don't think you're a wimp.

I thought you literally meant you cut your eye. I was about to say

Yea, I thought you were acting like my dad when we both ended up in the ER while building a log cabin. I took some kind of log to the forehead, causing a 2" gash, and he took a hatchet to the shin. We were both glued up, but I was not happy about having to cut my hair.

I was born with a knot in my intestines, so when I was 4 or 5 days old, I had a surgery to cut out the knot and install clamps to hold my intestines in place, resulting in a 6 or 7 inch scar starting from the right side of my stomach going to the middle.

I can play, but I can't play.

I can't do a lot of the rhythmic stuff I used to, I can only do downstrokes now, it's the only way my bandages don't get in the way.

I fell off my bike on a slippery descent and sprained my wrist a few weeks ago, and played a gig two days after, admittedly with the help of one of those pressure brace doofers.

Spraining my wrist would have been a blessing. At least an ace bandage doesn't cause pick dropping or get caught on and torn up by strings.
