This is indeed very sad,Goffin-King is printed under the titles of more hit 45s than any other songwriting team.If all the hits they have written had never been heard the music that made it to radio would have been very bland because they not only wrote incredible songs but they raised the bar and their songs were the benchmark against which all other songs were judged.The fact that they wrote such great songs,motivated other songwriters to try and turn out songs that at least tried to equal the quality of Goffin-King songs.God Bless Gerry Goffin for his incredible lyrics and the immense contribution he has made to the music industry and the huge influence he had in the development of popular music.
