Its not going to hurt anything, so its not a bad thing. But the guitar would likely sound better through a guitar amp (I would not suggest hooking the bass to the guitar amp though).

Well look at the Fender Bassman amp, that's a bass amp. But I would still recommend buying a real guitar amp.

find a bass player that likes an old tweed bassman as well as a guitar player.

'Use a Line 6 Vetta HD / 412 with '59 Bassman setting for both bass and guitar.

Both sound just fine.

I was going to take a look (and a listen) to some Line 6 amps at guitar center, this morning. I was just there a few minutes before opening time, and some people were already lined up at the door.

Once the place opened, a bunch of kids ran to the amp section, plugged into various amps........cranked up the volume and began a free concert for neighbors in a several block radius. I waited for them to check out the amps and clear out, however they began jamming with each other, and it looked like the free concert would go on for hours.........so I gave up and just left. I'll give it a try another time.........

stay away from the using a guitar amp for bass the low filters and speaker cant handle the pressure from the freuencies
that is why there are guitar and bass amps
