Hey guys, just thought I'd share this :) It's our first music video. The song isn't in English, but I hope you enjoy it anyway :)

Let me know what you think about it :D

Some very tasteful guitar work there -- both the acoustic and the Les Paul.

And I dig the Converse All Stars!

Rawk on!

Thanks mate :) The cleans were actually first recorded by our other guitarist on a Fender Strat, he's got one with Texas Specials in it, and a Twin Reverb and I overdubbed them with my Les Paul (I couldn't imagine this song cleans on just a Strat, the Gibson sound felt much more natural to me) and added a couple sparks there with my Supersonic 60, the Bassman mode, then I recorded the overdriven stuff again with the Supersonic and Gibson and he added a couple clean sparks there with his Fender :D That was our latest recording before our drummer had his back operation. Now we're hoping to record a couple more in the summer and hopefully get an album out by the end of the year :D

Um it went through one ear and out the other. The whole production wasn't quite creative enough for me. Not enough feeling, emotion, energy, it was over-processed not unique at all. This made "Glee" (the T.V. show) look trashy, raunchy and rude. In the end it was not my cup of tea at all.

The whole production as in song or the video? You gotta understand, we recorded everything ourselves so we didn't spend any money. As for the song, I guess not knowing what the lyrics are about and how they intertwine with the video is a bit of a handicap. Anyway, the lyrics aren't cheerful or optimistic, they are about a failed love between a girl and her friend who is in love with someone else. Hope that explains a bit about the lack of energy :)

Is Flash in your browser disabled? That might be the root of the problem, as the video is on Youtube and should work otherwise :)

Nice job, especially for working on a shoestring budget. Obviously I don't understand the song because I don't speak Spanish, but I'd like to pass along a couple of my impressions just in terms of the song structure.

I like how you kept it uncomplicated and clean. At this point that's what you want. Larger production aspects can come into the picture once you develop your style a bit more. One thing you should consider is in the structure and phrasing of the song. I can clearly make out the verse, and the lift (or some call it pre-chorus), but I think your chorus lingered too long. It may have been you were trying to say too much in the chorus, but you want that part of your song to be very concise, tight, and memorable (what's normally referred to as "the hook"). If it goes too long it becomes more like a verse. It may be the case that instead of trying to incorporate everything in a chorus, you might consider using a bridge instead of an instrumental break. It's very hard to make particular judgment since I don't understand the words, but your chorus definitely lost me due to it's length.

Good luck in your future efforts.

Thakns for the comments, I always appreciate constructive criticism :D The song is in Slovene, btw, not Spanish. Although I like that you had it mistaken for Spanish - no other reason, but I like Spanish language a lot. I can't speak it, can understand it a bit though, but it feels as a very, very nice and romantic language. So you can see why I am happy you had it mistaken for Spanish :D

Anyway, I know what you mean by using a hook (we do have it in a couple of our songs), the chorus in this song is actually only 15s long, but the build-up to chorus is a bit long. There are 2 choruses, though. In the end, before the Wah guitar solo, both of them are played one after another, so that's why it might feel longer :) This was actually our first song with a new singer, she wrote the lyrics and I wrote the music and melody :)

PS: I can't access Fender forums at home, so don't feel offended if I fail to respond to a post, I will be in the flat again on Monday so that's when I'm going to be able to check :)
