Hey all...

Just reworked this little MIM Squier Strat and got a little video up. I had an MIM Standard bridge w/GFS brass block that I swapped out and added a "neck on" toggle between the two tone controls. I also swapped out the cheap mini pots and 5-way with some CTS pots and a CRL switch that I had kicking around in my parts box. To be honest I never even plugged it in yesterday when I got it so I don't know how it sounded before but it sounds fine now. For the time being the pickups sound just fine... I actually like them better than the new MIM pickups, they're a little more vintage sounding. You could plug a wet turd into a Mesa Mark V and it would sound great IMO.

Anyhow, my friend had bugged me for years to take a stab at this tune and after 10 or so years I've finally gotten around to it. It's still a work in progress but I like how it turned out... a little slower than the original. In any event, hope you dig it! Cheers 8)

I have a GFS brass in mine as well. Nice job, she sounds wonderful.

Thanks...

Now, let's see how long I can live with having "Squier" on the peg head :? Given my snobbery regarding gear, I'm sure it'll get swapped out for a Fender neck at some point.
