When I read this fact, about a year ago, I tried it with my SCX2 on the champ setting. It was very easy to get the right sound and tone. With my Tele. :D

Those SCXD amps and the VCXD amps sound awesome! I dig older gear I have a 76 Super Reverb and, a 78 VC both are just incredible. Fender has never stopped making new and trippy gear ever! Here is my stash of amps.

This Orange is the latest edition to my humble collection.

When I play my VC with a Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret MKIII foundation pedal, it nails the Funk #49 tone down pat. This is a very simple but fun riff to play on electric. I've seen Joe attack it different ways with always cool results.

I've had a Fender tone ever since I bought my first Strat-a 1965-in 1974 but it wasn't until I bought on old silverface '69 Bassman with a 2-15 '68 Bassman cabinet about 12 years ago that I got a true all Fender tone. The sound of my old '65 Strat though that old Bassman rig is just ambrosia for the ears. With the guitar's controls on 10,that old amp starts to break up nicely at around 6 but it's when she's maxed out where she really shines. When that old rig is played opened up it creates the most soulful raunchiness that you'd ever want to hear.If Fender could make an amp a model of that tone, the stores could never keep enough of them in stock to satisfy the demand for them.

I have always believed, that a good Fender amp will make any guitar sound good 8)
I have an 02 Hot Rod Deville, a 2011 Blues Tweed Deluxe and a 2010 Mustang IV (212) digital amp. Both of the Hot Rod amps had their speakers replaced with the Italian made Jensen C12K 100watt speakers and I changed out 2 of the 3 preamp tubes for lower gain values other than the 12ax7 stock tubes. Better speakers with more sensible gain value preamp tubes, have rendered a couple of Fantastic sounding tube amps..as good as any I have ever heard...a few simple changes as I have made, can achieve this without having to monkey around with the stock circuit layout. I do most of the work on my amps and guitars myself with the exception of nut and fret work. I use a Zoom G2.1u multi effects pedal for the very few effects that I use. I always use just a touch of delay and reverb on my most basic channels and Tremolo added to that for some other preset channels..more delay on other presets depending on the tune that I am playing. The Mustang is King of all in my opinion/experience, it can it do it all without the expense and troubles you can often have with tubes.

I have a couple of MIM standard Teles that I have hot rodded with custom pickups and 500k volume pots for added spank and sparkle and a bone nut that was hand cut to replace the stock nuts that were Not cut properly at the factory :( I also have a Squier VM Jazzmaster special that was perfect for me right out of the shop :P

Here's one of my many Youtube vids from what I call my 'musical library' on Youtube. If I ever need to go back and relearn a tune, I can refer to my Youtube page to see exactly what I was doing on that tune originally.

One of my many great Fender sounds from my Deville 212 which has been a great amp over the last 12yrs 8)

Surfin' Safari with the Blues Tweed Deluxe Reissue and Tele 8)

Some fun on the Mustang IV amp

Been looking for that sound in my head for over thirty years now and I just found it. I've owned a boat load of guitars and amps over the years, many brands and styles.. Last week I became the proud owner of a new DRRI amp. I plugged my American Special Tele into that baby and was blown away. I can get anything from crystal clean to as dirty as I want with the guitar straight into the amp. I find myself not using any pedals with this thing. I still keep a Boss Blues driver and a crybaby on hand in case of emergencies. Love the sound of this amp. :D :D :D

I use several Fender Stratocasters, and one Telecaster, for various different tones. I love the classic Custom Shop '54 pickups, as well as my Clapton Strat. Currently, I'm playing a '75 and '76 Strats. the '75 has a very classic Strat sound. The '76 has been shielded, so the tone sounds a little warmer to me, compressed if you will.

With my Tele, I get a very Andy Summers sound.

I play Christian Rock, so there is a bit of delay, a little compression, OD, and chorus.

No matter what I'm playing, it all goes through a Hot Rod DeVille. Treb & Bass are set high, and the mids are set to about five.

I am on a learning journey and still exploring but:
My Fender is a White MIM Standard. I have settled on ECG24 Chromes Flat Wound, Jazz Light, 11-50 w/wound 'G' string. Will most like switch to a set of vintage stagger pups( open to suggestions on pups ).
My Amp is a Mustang 1 V.2 ( I like the Fender Tweed mods best ).
I have an old Yamaha EG303 that I put EMG HZ3 Passive pups in with standard Ernie Ball Slinkys.

I used to be a Strat through a Frontman guy, but now I play nothing but Acoustic. I've recently found out just how great Fender Acoustic Guitars really are. I am the owner of a Korean made, 1999 Fender SA-20S in a Natural finish and I absolutely love it.

I have 4 Fender amps: Hot Rod DeVille, Ultimate Chorus, Deluxe 85 (original red knobs), and Frontman 15G.
They all have their perks and sounds.

I play through the Ultimate Chorus 95% of the time (with Chorus turned on). I set tone, bass, reverb etc...all at 5 and do any other adjustments on my pedals and/or the guitar itself.

I'll play my Standard Strat, and Highway One Strat through a Behringer Vintage Tube Monster, and my Standard Tele w/Bigsby through a Podals Blooze Machine.

I do not use a tremolo...turn my Strats into hard tails...and on the Tele the Bigsby is more for looks, and semi-hollow sound, so I leave that tremolo alone too.

When I play through any of the other amps, I just make adjustments as I warm up, and once I find a sound I like I just leave it alone and/or make any other small adjustments on the guitar itself.

I prefer a more clean sound...but then everything deserves a little punch and crunch...so just stomp the pedal---rock it out---and bring it back.

this is just my fender tone , bdri with a 12ay7 v1 and 12ax7wa's in v2,v3. stock gt 6l6 wxt power tubes(properly biased). jensen p12n speaker. normal channel only and an ec strat for good measure. now... my only gripe to fender is why not have an amp that really does the 50's deluxe or tweed twin sound without all the price. you guys can do it with a printed circuit board. ok, cork sniffers we don't need your op. just make an amp that does what the tweed twin does without all the price. compression is the key.lower the dynamics.the low end thump of a bassman was meant for a bassman only.you could put in a compressor circuit fine tuned to a tweed twin or even a tweed deluxe type of compression. offer it in single 12" or twin. come on guys, throw us a bone. not everyone can afford an e.c. amp. the economy has us all over a barrel. how about totally simplify an amp and just have a volume and a tone one channel and alnico speaker, ok, those things will most likely cost us but there again technology can be the answer. you guys are smart. stop with all the greed a majority want the 50's sound. i'm not mad because i'm not rich just use the tech available.keep it al ltube. most don't care for digital. just a suggestion from someone who gives a s#!t.

Plug into one or two of these, depending on the size of the venue.

For me it's not so complicated. Just have mxr distortion III and big muff for the pedals. And strat going to a twin reverb. That's all I need.
