Yeah man Yoda, if you want any more speakers than that, you may be classified as a hoarder.
That's amazing. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Our band has back to back outdoor gigs in August. One is a backyard party and the other is out of town at a Motorcycle Rally. I want to use both cabinets at least for the rally gig. After that I will probably leave one at the jam space and use the other for gigs.
I can't wait to play it outside, then I can crank it up a bit more!

That's the most legitimate use for such an elaborate setup.

Years ago I played an out-of-state biker festival outdoors and I decided to use both my primary rig AND an identical back-up rig -- two Twin Reverbs with JBL's, two big-box Bandmaster cabinets.

They prolly heard me all the way on Pluto......

That is awesome! Thats crazy loud!

I took the head in yesterday after work and the guy just called me and says it will be done today.
He said there was a short on 2 bad tubes, which smoked a resistor. He replaced the tubes, cleaned the pots, changed over the 2 prong to a 3 prong cord and added a reverb (which needs to be mounted to the back cover, which I don't have, so I'll have to make one).
He said he’s playing it with the reverb out of the back.
I am so psyched to plug this thing in to the cabinets!

I took it for a test drive tonight. I don't live in a noise friendly place, but it sounded like no one was upstairs so I turned it up a bit. So far this amp is clean. Lots of headroom. Its got a master volume, so I cranked that and brought up the volume and I was getting a bit of break up. Its got me wanting more! I need to get this amp to the jam space soon to see what it can do!

This has a footswitch operated reverb and one for tremolo. The two switches I have don't seem to do anything. Does anyone know what kind of switch I would need?
The reverb tank the tech put is from the 60's, so thats nice its from the era. If only I could engage it!

I got one foot switch to work, the other does not.
It seems that if I engage the reverb, and move the switch to the tremolo, the reverb stays on. That works for me as I usually like a bit of reverb anyway.
On the back, there is a reverb adjustment pot. What is the purpose of front and rear controls for the reverb?

Do some online research and see if you can find a site that has a copy of the owner's manual -- it should contain everything you need to know, perhaps even a schematic.

I've seen schematics, but haven't looked for a manual. I will give that a try.

So I may have been mistaken about the master volume. This amp has 2 channels, so I think the volumes are independent of each other. I jumped channels, and then I could use both volumes.
So, when I was under the impression that this had a master volume, I dimed it, to bring up the other volume into break up. It didn't seem that loud. I think it should have blasted me in the face standing in front of it, but it didn't.
The tech said the tubes tested in working order, but he said he didn't know for how long. He told me the amp was loud, but with me playing around on it, it doesn't seem as loud as it should.
Is this a tube issue or something else?

Could just be a tube issue. Does the tech have a tube tester?

I believe so. He said the tubes tested fine, but he said he didn't know for how long. I myself have maybe put an hour or so of playing time (2 half hour times) on the amp since I got it back.
Aside from the 2 tubes that went, and the resistor they took out, nothing else has been changed, ie caps and the remaider of the tubes.

After getting a bit of playing time on the amp, I decided to try to jump channels.
I love the sound of jumping channels! It really opens things up, but I am getting some noise when I do. Its kind of garbled, maybe a bit of a static sound too. Any ideas of what this may be? Bad contact in the jack or something else?

I know not all amps like the channels jumped. Could be a polarity problem between channels.
The static could just be a dirty input jack or volume pot. It'll probably take a litte while to work out all the bugs. Did you get the amp recapped?
