I rented an apt after selling my house. I asked for quiet and was assured my downstairs unit was, but I'm living below an insomniac. She wakes up between 2 and 4 AM and paces for maybe an hour and a half. About 5AM it goes quiet again.
starts up again around 7AM. Every night.

I moved in on Tuesday and have only been able to park in my assigned spot once since then. Other tenants keep parking there.

Got up at 4 AM and started repacking my stuff as pacing continued overhead.
Went out in late AM and found a 'casita' with no 2nd storey and put a deposit on it.
$60 more per month, but no overhead percussive walking. Plus wash/dryer.

My exposure is 2 months rent if I bail early, but in Arizona the management has to, by law, make every attempt to rent out the property. But this could cost $1700 to
do.

Gonna go in on Monday morning and try to get out of the lease, but even if they refuse, I cant stay here. I'm exhausted. Working all day in the heat, then coming home late, parking in the guest parking, and not sleeping will make me nuts. Going over to the girlfriends house tonight. Maybe some REM sleep will put me right. And some Nyquil to make sure I stay down.

Ever escaped a lease?

This isn't the place for this.

Rough story Taurus, sorry to read you are going through that. Explain it to the landlord and hopefully they will understand. No parking and noisy neighbors are pretty good reasons not to stay there.

+1

As much as I might sympathize, shimmilou is right.

I would definitely park the person in that is taking your parking spot, let them do all the running around to find out who to beg to move when they want to get out. As for the upstairs zombie, play some guitar early in the morning as they are finally getting their sleep, if they are music lovers it may just help them

Hence the reason I bought a house instead of renting an apartment when I moved out of my parent's house 23 years ago...still own the house, too!
