Let's face it. All of us; at a certain point of time; are unable to play on our favourite Strat, Tele, Precision, Jazz, whatever, due to something or the other taking place. I; myself; am unable to play on my Strat since I had developed a huge and painful abscess on my arm a few days back. I've undergone surgery and while I'm okay now, it will be quite a bit of time before I'll be able to play again. Haven't you all gone through a similar phase? Do share your experiences and state how you've dreaded not being able to play your favourite instrument.

Quick answer to your simplistic question is: no, because there are more important things in my life that out weigh my guitar playing. Quick answer to a complex situation of substituting physical or mental aliments to disguise one's inadequacies on guitar: also, no.

Wow! A post from India! I have been twice!

JoyadityaSaha! Sorry to hear about your predicament. I feel the same way. I am newly married for a little over two years and sometimes a get carried away with the guitar and quite naturally it upsets my wife. I just got back from our vacation in Hawaii and as much as I loved that island - - - I was missing having my hands on that guitar.

I hope you heal soon!

I don't know that I feel sad, but I have felt jumpy-like I'm not getting my fix.

When I am on vacation I seek out music stores to at least be in the presence of & look at guitars--if not actually playing them.

Wow! I hope you liked our country. There are many interesting things here. What places did you visit here?

No offence, I'd prefer my guitar over my wife any day. Then again, I haven't ever been in a relationship. By the way, my arm has healed now. I'll be covering a few songs today itself. Peace! :)

I've played guitar right through all my illnesses, bone breaks (fingers and legs), car accident hospitalisations and all. Right now is the only time I am unable to play my own gear, yet I am as healthy as usual. The reason being my gear is packed in a shipping container while I am mid process to moving continents. It will be a few months before I get to unpack it all and release all my desires to play my guitar again. I feel so bored and miserable now that I can't pick up my guitar to enjoy it. I can't do much now, but I think one of my first things to do when I land oversees is to buy a new guitar so that I can play again, even if it is only unplugged or through a computer, just to get my sanity back while I wait for the shipping container to land.

I know that feeling. Now that my arm has healed, I am not being able to leave my guitar even for a fleeting second.

We saw the Kama Sutra Garden in Khajuraho, India!!!

It was amazing. Also, we went to Agra. Best of all, I enjoyed exploring temples and caves from over 25,000 years ago!

Next time we visit, we plan to stay in the Andaman Islands!

Cool! I've been to Khajuraho too. T'was way back in 2007. It was a great place. Glad to hear that you liked what our country has to offer. Peace \m/
