I always wanted a adp5, and I luv translucent finishes that show the wood grain. Tho I doubt Fender will make one. Since they're making the dimension bass 5.
I just don 't care for the offset shape of the jazz or dimension bass.
Last January I got a sweet deal on a American P5. After I got my bass, I saw some adp5's in teal?

Transparent Teal was dropped from the US Deluxe Series in 2004, though I saw a couple of teal-finished FSR Deluxe Strats built to post-2004 specs.

The maple necked basses are by far the most eye-catching! :D

Good question. How about that 24 fret Jazz bass you had a few years ago? Perhaps with a few more finish options, too. The Precision Bass Lyte was a pretty decent bass, too.

In addition to the colour options I would expect a US-made 6-string version of that 2 octave Jazz Bass with a pair of Basslines humbucking soapbars, a compound radius ebony fingerboard and an 18V supply.

That would be pretty cool. I think Fender has only made one 6-string model (not counting the old school Bass VI) that I'm aware of from a couple of years ago. Unless you count those Heartfield instruments from the late 80's, which I believe were made in Japan.

True. Fender did a 6-string Jazz Bass for fretless supremo Steve Bailey in 2009.

Image

This model lasted only 2 years as Steve moved to the Warwick camp shortly after.

Prior to the SRB6 FMIC made an unusual 6-string exotic through-neck bass for Alien Ant Farm's bassist Ty Zamora. Kinda sorta of "Taurus-meets-Streamer".

Image

The Zamora bass never came into general production.

Personally I opt for a backrouted 6-string Dimension Bass with three humbuckers and a 36''-scale 2-octave ebony fretboard with white tuxedo blocks and binding.

Are you talking about one based on this previous model: Image

Or, one of those new ones?

The newer Dimensions. With a 4+2 tuner configuration, fretted and clear-coated unbound fretless with fretlines. Through neck construction.

I'd like to see the US Dimension basses available in the UK, absolutely no one has stock of them.

Not so much a comeback as they never seem to have arrived here.

The Subsonic Stratocaster started life as a Custom Shop model with the choice of HSS or HH configurations.
This guitar catered for players liking that 7-string growl but prefer the feel of a 6-string.

Later, Fender put the Subsonic into regular production as a part of their American Special series.

This model was the precursor to the Zone Bass, introduced in 2003.

I have a P-Light Deluxe my eldest brother had bought in the UK circa 1997/98. One of the 4 screws securing the bridge humbucker is missing.
