Are you referring to the guitar model ... or the pretty person holding it? I ask this because my answer differs depending on which one ...

In the early 2000's when I was buying my first fender I always drooled over the '90's tele thinline. I'd love one and would happily part with a couple of guitars to get one. Telecasters and binding are a match made in heaven!

I'd like to see Fender reissue the "VibraVerb"??? amp,the one that was about the size of a Super Reverb-if memory serves me correctly-but had a Leslie type rotating drum over the speaker. It had tremolo and reverb too if I'm not mistaken, to add even more colour to the sound.I'd also like to see them reissue the Fender speaker cabinet that was based on the Leslie model 16,which had a 12" speaker with a 2 speed motor driving a rotating drum that gave a simulated rotating speaker sound that was absolutely out of this world in its day.I have an old CBS era Leslie Model 16 and I used it gigging up into the 90s and when I switched it on you could see heads turn because it made the guitar literally sound like an organ, which would flip people out when there would be nobody sitting at the keyboards when I used it.

This guitar was reissued as the Modern Telebration Thinline in 2011. Discontinued and replaced by the American Deluxe Thinline Telecaster, introduced yesteryear.

I had to google her name- I wouldn't have a clue who she is. That's the problem with Fender endorsements these days.

+1. Right on - the Esprit popped instantly into my mind when I saw this thread. I would definitely buy a Corona-built one of these if they came back - especially in that sexy trans-black. Yes yes! :D

Fender Katana.

I'm sure I wouldn't buy one of these if they came back. But I do think that of all the V-styled guitars the Katana was my favourite. A very nicely designed asymmetrical variation on the theme.

On the other hand, from the same era, if the Performer was reissued I most certainly would buy one:

I kinda think they screwed up on the headstock shape, though I'd take it even with that peghead. Put a redesigned, prettier headstock on it and I'll take... well, two. :)

The Fender Performer: the blue-collar man's Parker Fly...

Cheers - C

The reissued Performers should have an original Floyd Rose trem, not the infamous Kahler Spyder types found on the 1980s originals.

With a pair of EMGs, dome metal knobs and a 1-piece maple neck option this tone monster would increase in sales and popularity.

I would love to see this come back as well. I have been trying to find one with no luck. Either too expensive or not in good condition.

That would be the Vibratone...

I'd take a Performer too, but with the Marauder, Tele Plus, Starcaster and Coronando being made in China, I wouldn't want one if the performer was made in China too. In which case I'd prefer Fender left it alone.

It wouldn't be true to the original and if Fujigen own the rights to the design, you would never see it from fender. Take the Fender Elan and DR bass as an example :).

Correct.

It was actually about the size of a Twin Reverb Amp as this pic of the near-identical Leslie 16 demonstrates......

Image

Two "flavors" -- the first models had a 10-inch speaker (usually an Oxford) while the later editions featured twelve(Oxford or Utah).

The Vibratone *might* be a suitable candidate for re-issue if FMIC could hold the line on the price point (say, $499 or thereabouts).

I think one of the bigger brown face amps such as the Concert or the Brown Vibrolux would be awesome!

Bring back the Elite series. Improve the design with Babicz bridges, EMG pickups, Fender locking tuners with pearl buttons, dome metal knobs, an HSS option and a 5-way selector for the Stratocaster.

The new Elite Strats and Teles will feature 22-fret compound maple necks with the choice of rosewood or maple fretboards.
