Are you referring to the original single-coil pickup version or the later incarnation with the Wide Range humbucker?

Re-issue and update the Strat Ultra in the Fender Select line.

No personality cards, put the lace sensors back in and even a locking Trem based on the mini Floyd variant (if fender holds the patents)

But add something new, like the channel binding with a aaa flamed neck with ebony board.

I think the "new" Strat Ultras best deserve an original Floyd Rose trem than a Mini and an HSH configuration (Purple/Emerald in the neck, Light Blue in the middle and a Red/Red in the bridge) with Clapton electronics and lead/rhythm switches a la James Tyler.

A hard case for the Coronado instead of that lousy gig bag.

I like what Fender did with the Pawn Shop series by reintroducing different body styles. A Fender Select Esprit would surely be a collectible. Can you imagine one of those with a Koa top and Wide Range pickups? Insane.

If the Flame/Esprit returns it's pretty certain Robben Ford will rejoin the Fender camp after many years of absence.

Robben is currently busy with Gibsons.

Rivera Era Fender 30, all tube, ptp wired, size of a deluxe, 30 watts, tube rectifier, channel switching via foot switch. I had one I gave it to my kiddo when I got my first Mesa Boogie a Mark II. I don't know what he did with it, he does not have it anymore, but I sure miss it these days.

I'll add another vote for the Electric XII. Preferably with a maple neck.

I had a tiny tiny hope that Fender would have looked at our answers to their question, picked one, and we would have seen a small Fender Lounge FSR announced at NAMM.
Too bad.

And deep down, I had hoped it would be a 30th Anniversary Katana - because right now, Fender offers absolutely nothing in that market segment. Nada. The Katana is distinct enough that I think it would attract buyers who now buy Ibanez or Schecter, but would not mind a quality instrument that also looks unique and has the great Fender name behind it. But even a Lead reissue would be good as an attempt to regain some of that market share, which currently is lost for Fender.

Ah well, there will be more NAMMs.

......and likely more disappointments. I don't get the impression that the 'suits' share your nostalgia. Reitterating from prior discussions on the matter, I'd like to the the "Performer'' in that group, with a new headstock design. Current visions in guitar design which I'm seeing reflected in new product ads support our choices. 8)
