I actually found these in an old Fender magazine. The Fender Showmaster. I actually did play a used one of these at a local store. I was planning on buying it, but it was gone next time I was there. Never saw one since. It was really nice to play and it felt nice in my hands. The style was a bit different from a common strat or tele. Seemed to be a bit more of a metal guitar. Though it just seemed like something that I'd want to own.

I would also love to see more makes of the Esquire. Not really expecting a Snakehead Esquire comeback, but I would love to see it.

And, of course, as a lot of other people have posted on here already: 12 string guitars!

+1

Showmasters were Fender's first real successful attempt to make a superstrat. The early designs (HM series, Prodigy) failed to attract metal guitarists due to the previous CBS ownership.

Gene Baker was the man behind these high quality USA-made Fender superstrats.

Production of Showmasters phased out shortly after the Jackson/Charvel purchase; as a result the series was dropped from the pricelist in 2009.

I'm more of the opinion that the Jackson/Charvel marque, by virtue of the stylings they pioneered, put young metal players in the mindset that Fender was 'their father's guitar'. Fender was late in the game when it came to the 'pointy' guitars which their 'heroes' were playing.

Many of the ideas posed in this thread are excellent.

With the rich history that Fender has enjoyed, they could really do a "Year of Reissues" where they pick a popular (and/or not so popular) set of 12 designs, and create faithful reissues at as affordable a price point as possible, one per month, for 12 months. That would've been great for the 50th Anniversary...

As silly as it sounds, I always wanted a Katana. NOBODY plays those, and they are kinda cool in a weird 80's way.

How about ACTUAL reissues of the old Sunn amps instead of the bastardizations Fender previously released?

Make nitro standard again. Your guitars won't look vintage if they live long enough.

One of the problems is nitro is no longer legal to use in California hence why the ones that use it are shipped to Meh-heeee-co to paint. So write a letter to the tree huggers lol.

That does not bother me so much as I can do a nitro refin anytime I want on any guitar. What I would like to see is M0AR HARDTAIL STRATS. It sucks that I have to scour ebay and pay for a Robert Cray body when it should be an option for every single Strat.

Fück environmentalists.

I'm all for preserving the environment, but I'd rather have a quality axe than a quality world, considering the world we live in sucks already and can't be saved. I'm looking at a vehicle with a 5.7L V8. Go big or go home, and enjoy your time.

If popular demand had been consistent with your preference, and mine, for that matter, you would not have to be scouring.

Please bring back the ShowMaster fat. What an all around very comfy and great sound!
Mine has PearlyGatesPlus in Bridge and '59 neck 5way reverse polarity. So sweet.

-Fender XII
-Reissue the old Telecaster bass of the late 60's/early 70's
-A Blackface or Silverface Vibrochamp (without the DSP effects, just a real tremolo/vibrato/whatever)
-1963 Vibroverb...I have a 1992 model, and it's the best amp I've ever owned, after I replaced the cruddy stock fake "Oxfords". Get some good speakers in there, and it would be a hit--big enough for just about any outdoor show, small enough for a club (I should know, I've done both)...

+1 for a Vintage Modified '68 Custom Vibro-Champ.

FMIC offers a Bronco Bass under the Squier marque but not a Bronco guitar and matching amp.

+2 for a Blacktop XII with Jazzmaster humbuckers.

The Modern Player Custom/Maverick & Swinger/Musiclander pair is also under consideration.

The California Series electrics. A 97 CA Tele is my dream telecaster.
