Need an amp for gigging, sold my Mesa a couple of years ago and have been relagated to a 15W blues junior. Needless to say need more power. Anyone recommend the blues deville 2X12 variety, or should I just go for broke and go for a fender twin?

Those are the only 2 I have ever tried, should I be checking out anything else.

Thanks

Another option would be to plug a 2x12 cab into the blues jr or just mic it.

Go For Broke! Go For Broke!!!!

:P

Actually, you might find this funny. but lately I've shown up at jam sessions and gigs with a Roland Microcube and a cord to plug into their PA....

:o

But as far as Fender stuff goes? The Twin Reverb is an amazing amp. So is the DeLuxe and the DeVille (great sounds with partial crunch.) But depending on your style....there are....other amps out there.....(I will not name names..._

Ok, maybe I'll buy a cab and just plug it into the blues jr. And start saving up for the fender twin in the meantime...thanks for the thoughts folks.

i have a 60's twin, and it is amazing, but for most gigs it is more amp then i need. I might look at a deluxe reverb ri, or a hotrod deluxe, or even a mesa express 5/25. the boogie is witchable between 5 and 25 watts

great club amp, can get it in a combo or a head/cab set up

'Have a '65 Reissue Twin Reverb, 'bout 10 years now.

'Been a truism in the guitar world, not too many people who ever bought or played one said it was a sucky amp...or for that matter were in any way disappointed.

I would recommend the Fender Steel King with a Boss Blues Driver pedal (if you're paying blues, I'm just guessing).

But its kind of narrowed down to what you really think sounds good I guess.

If you like the tone of the Blues Junior, then just buy an external speaker cabinet.

I've got a 2X12 cab I plug my Peavey Classic 20 into. Very similar to the Blues Jr. 12AX7's and EL34's. 15 W. I tell ya, it's pretty damn loud through a 2X12 cab. Very crunchy and toneful.

been doing some research...thanks for the comments everyone. Think that I may settle on the deville 2X12...it seems somewhat portable and 60W is probably good for mid sized gigs.

On another note, does Fender make any good 2x12 cabs...I'm not too farmiliar with their cab/head combo's...any advice?

60 is a lot of all tube wattage, I use a 30watt old supro and it is more amy then i have ever needed. If i need more i just mic it. I ahve a twin which is 50 watss and it never gos past 3 on the volume
