Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club is going to court in a bid to end a 20-year David and Goliath row over who is entitled to own the rights to its name – ‘the place where it all began’ or a Hard Rock cafe in Boston, Massachusetts, where Brian Epstein didn’t discover The Beatles.

Unless the Hard Rock Cafe tries to make The Cavern Club stop using the name, I think it's much ado about nothing. If the owners of The Cavern Club want to start a U.S. franchise, then they'll need to fork some money over to the HRC. Business as usual.
The current Cavern Club is a re-creation, slightly off of the original hallowed ground. It's definitely fun to go to, but just another tourist business.

My money is on the Cavern Club. Well, sentimentally.
There was a Hard Rock Cafe in Vernon, Ca, back in the day. I guess everyone involved in that bar is either dead or too far gone to file a suit. :)

Agreed

+1 Just another attempt to profit off an uninformed audience.

To others it was a club not too far from there....The Cafe WHA??? Many 'worlds' began there. Where guitar players are concerned, the club will forever be linked with Jimi Hendrix.
