Hey guys,

Have you taken a look at our new line of Reclaimed Wood Stratocaster® guitars and Telecaster® guitars? Each has a distinct Fender sound as well as truly unique backstories. Each of the guitars is crafted from old-growth wood acquired from locations across America, from our Reclaimed Eastern Pine guitars crafted from a dairy barn in Lake Odessa, Mich., to a Reclaimed Redwood Stratocaster created from a Bakersfield, Calif., road bridge. Along with distinct wood grains, knots and other wood anomalies, Reclaimed Wood guitars also feature player-friendly features such as rosewood necks (Eastern Pine models only), channel-bound fingerboards and special pickup configurations.

Read the stories behind these instruments and let us know what you think.

Thanks all!

Those are being made out of recycled whisky barrels.

(There's a great story behind it.)

That sounds like an excellent idea, except for barrel boards being thin and curved.
And, of course, most good whisky isn't stored in whisky barrels, but wine barrels.

I can see it now. Bassists gnawing on their basses like toddlers to teething rings.

Beautiful Fender, I like them!
Everyone is humble of late, but a closer look reveals they're not really, hence the over use of the word lol.
"Culled from batches of genuine old-growth pine and redwood timbers from modest locations", better?

Why not adding a matching bass pair of Precisions and Jazzes?

With four regular guitars sold for every bass sold, it's to be expected that regular guitars will get more varieties.
For one thing, it means you'll have five times as many factory cells, and the impact of stopping one of them to inject a special run is going to be less.
Then there's the amount of wood available - if it's limited, you might not want to use it on the models that require the most wood.

It sucks if you play bass, of course. But at least you get some special runs - just not as many.

How many of these limited-edition guitars will be made so far?

They look incredible there is something about old wood that really looks spectacular when carved into the shape of a guitar. There is a company in Quebec that raises logs that sank as much as over 200 years ago in the St. Lawrence River. When these logs were cut,a lot of them were 2 and 3 hundred years old.I have seen programs on TV featuring furniture makers who use these old logs for making their cabinets, chairs etc. and the grains of these woods are just unbelievably beautiful and unique. There are many kinds of hardwood used such as Maple,Oak,Chestnut,Walnut etc. I bet that these woods would make some fabulous guitar bodies.

The Tele deserves a neck humbucker option.
